There’s an easier way when doing the elastic. Before turning the scrunchy right side out, you slide your elastic through the tube; tie the elastic in a knot; then turn it. I think it’s a real time saver.

@obxshelly Жыл бұрын
This is a common technique called the "Burrito Method". Still is effective, however before turning loop right sides out, I insert elastic through tube, stitch elastic ends together, then pull it all through the 2" opening I've left. This achieves the same end result, it's just a bit easier to thread the elastic right through the center of the tube, rather than fish it through once turned right side out. Beautifully made video!

@LilaBearАй бұрын
@@emilybarnhart5919before you turn the tube the right way out, thread your elastic through the inside out tube. Tie or stitch the two ends together, then just keep on as this tutorial instructs (turn it all right way out). You'll then end up with the scrunchie right way out with the elastic already inside. I know it sounds confusing but it's easy to do. I did it myself and I still don't understand the engineering involved 😂

Elastic is cut at 9, 8 and 7 inches respectively. I knot the elastic as it’s my preference. Then I hand stitch the opening closed. I learned this from trial and error, many many errors. 😂

I just tried making a couple scrunchies for fun this week. I nailed one because I followed directions to a T. But I played around with my third one on the fabric sizes and it didn’t turn out very “scrunchy”. It was jumbo looking, as I wanted it however. I’d thought it was the elastic where I went wrong. Thinking I needed thicker elastic to make it appear fuller inside. But now I really think I needed the fabric to be much longer. My measurements were 4x24. 4”when folded. So I did actually cut it 8” wide so it would eventually be 4”.
