I love this. I have been a Seamwork member for years. I have signed up for DYW several times but never followed up with all the parts. This process video helps a lot. I have a sense that time not spent cutting, sewing or putting the pattern together isn't as valuable somehow. I need to slow the * down, I think! I'll obsess over the fabrics and the patterns but won't take the care in organizing it neatly as it is laid out in the fabulous workbook. Inspiring! Many thanks.

Your calm and confident demeanor throughout the video was very inspiring. You clearly know what you want, what looks good on you, and what suits your style, which is something I'm still figuring out for myself. I have a different body shape and size, so I will need to make some adjustments to your designs, but your video has definitely helped me get started on the right track. Your use of Procreate to sketch out your designs was particularly impressive, and I would love to see a video on how you did that.

I have been planning seasonal capsules like this since last September. I did one for early fall, late fall and winter. I include items I already have and plan to see a few pieces. For each of the three capsules that I have done (I am still adding to the winter one), I find that I have been happy with less items than I had planned. I plan for 30 pieces including coats but I could really do with less. Maybe only working at the office 2 days a week has an impact on this.

Great to see your process (and the kitties!). I've been doing DYW twice a year for about 3 years now and I find it super helpful in focussing, even if I don't get to all the sewing. I made 2 pair of Joss in linen for my PNW-good-weather capsule last year. Great pattern that somehow bridges casual and work. Also: you sold me on a copy of Vintage Details!

Hey Sarai -- what a great video! So many learnings and "permission slips" came up for me 🙂 I would definitely love to see a video of how you worked in Procreate to create your garment croquis. Thank you so much for showing and sharing your process for wardrobe planning. I’ve been doing the same thing (inspired by Seamwork’s podcast and KZbin episodes), and it’s been really fun. Hi, Are you sure that you're not a Swede? Those colors of black white and beige are the color of almost all basic clothing that people here are using all the time. With beige being very daring, of course. I, like most of the people I know have a uniform of jeans and tee-shirt with the t-shirt most often being black. A very practical color black. Very utilitarian. In the spring you can see people go wildly off piste and wear say a skirt in pink or any other pastell, if it gets warm. Warm here is from round 15-20℃ (60-70 F). I love to see the method you show us. I really wish I could do it, but due to medical stuff I can come up with about 8 hours per week that I can use without having to stay in bed for minimum 2 weeks to recover. Oh the 8 hours need to be stretched out with no more than 2 hours 30 by the way. I currently use them to training ballroom international standard. I prefer run around for an hour in dance heels, instead of spending that time in a gym, on a treadmill, or running in the woods (around here there are prepared running tracks in the nearby woods). I could also run around on the streets but what's the fun in that. I do have an idea on what to sew, very soon... or at least this year... I hope. A grown on sleeve blouse in viscose (aka Rayon) as a test garment to start to figure out my body shape, almost like a wearable toile. Time will tell if this is going to happen. Thank you for this very interesting peek into your decision making process and very hands on demonstration of the what to sew material, on Seamwork. I happen to be a member, but I have yet to try make something from your pattern library. At the moment I feel it being so knit heavy and I most certainly don't have an overlock machine. I have a beautiful gentleman of a Husqvarna Automatic from 1960-61, and he does everything I ask of him. He is very analog, and I love him dearly. Yours, Ann
