I am just stunned by the low number of views!!!!! When I consider all the unworthy things to spend time on - and this! this is overlooked. On a more positive note, you are so good at explaining things. I have watched several of your videos, and your ability to express ideas and complicated data is impressive. You are personable, humorous - an excellent teacher. I am in the process of writing a book (I am a theologian) which discusses the emergence of "belief" (religious and non-religious) - and the negative impact that belief has on culture, education, politics, etc. When did this ability of the imagination emerge, how and why did its emergence survive, and how did it evolve (either biologically or through a related process such as memetic evolution)? These are some of the questions that arise. To cover this topic I have been listening to and studying biology, archaeology, neuroscience, evolution, psychology, etc. If I had realized how complicated my simple consideration was - would I have begun that journey of discovery? Well, now it's too late. Onward. As a final note, I will be changing the famous phrase of Darwin (Survival of the Fittest) to my own term : survival of the "freak." I think it more easily dismisses the notion of linear growth, determinism, and the fallacious consideration that all mutations are beneficial. I think that this will make an interesting read. Anyways, thought it might be interesting the explain my interest in your presentation(s). Thank you again for your knowledge, your teaching skills, and for sharing your work with us. If more would watch this .... more would benefit. Thank you!!!

You really inspires me to become the next Sean Carroll😂

Inda, have you not learned anything from this presentation? The only way you could become another Sean Caroll is if you had his parent's genes or that you were cloned.

A good 10-15 minute lecture. A tedious one hour lecture. Repeating virtually every sentence 3 different ways.
