Imagine Lampard, Gerrard, Bruce, Solskjaer, Arteta, Parker, or Tuchel with the Burnley squad and that budget. It's a joke the narrative span by the media... Graham Potter and Sean Dyche are top 10 managers over the last 10 years. Without debate... but the secrets they hold and protect each other behind closed doors has stained this nation and destroyed the games integrity... they tried to blame foreign players:then they pushed grass roots to develop English boys to be more technical. Then they tried to blame foreign investment : but look how excited they got at that English billionaire interested in buying man United. They're plastic frauds, the lot of em... integrity is a rare talent that not all are blessed with

@@tmithoth8956 I agree but managers like Sean Dyche or say Graham Potter as you mentioned are great managers no doubt about that but they have never handled bigger dressing rooms with big egos, Imagine handling XI players egos with some of the players on the bench... to me it is also a talent in itself that many people fail to see, one example in modern context is Pep, He does it so well... even if he gets the comments of oil money such and such, even if I hate City, He tends to handle the dressing room fresh with healthy morale of the team, I am not saying Dyche is not capable of doing it but every manager kinda fits in well for the team they handle...if that makes sense.

What an insightful delve into Dyche’s masterclass. 99% of people just think Burnley were 11 men behind the ball, negative tactics, defend defend defend, etc. but this proves how inventive and meticulous he was when it came to their games. He knew they weren’t the most skilful, technical but still set them up in a way they’d get results.

@@LKeet6 have to agree. He can spout about the tactics all he likes but i remember how this game played out and Burnley wasted time from minute 1, disrupted the game with incessant fouls and petulance, and played extremely over physically; dancing on the edge of what is legal with the rules of the game. Like Atletico Madrid if they were really really shit lol. Beyond the shithousery, though… what Dyche has managed to do at Burnley is nothing short of miraculous given his budget. Not dissimilar to what Klopp has done at Liverpool when you look at net spend across European clubs. Liverpool not even in the top 15 clubs in net spend yet have been one of the best two or three teams in Europe for almost 5 years.

Of all the Masterclass videos I've seen so far, this was the one I was looking forward to the most. I always find it extremely fascinating as to how managers stifle bigger teams and huge credit to Dyche for achieving that regularly and for keeping for keeping Burnley so long in the Premier League especially taking into account the funding he had. I honestly have no idea as to why the Burnley board got rid of him, it was a massive mistake on their part. I mean karma works in mysterious ways and for Burnley it happened after they sacked him, it was no surprise that they got relegated as well. Hopefully Dyche comes back to the PL again, we'd all love to see it. I'm sure there are plenty of clubs in the league that could use a manager of his talents.

Regardless of what others think of him, he’s a top class manager. What he was able to do at Burnley with such a small budget is nothing short of amazing - even got them to Europe in 18/19. Absolutely scandalous decision by Burnley to sack him. Not only that, but he’s a Liverpool fan and quite funny. Seems like a decent bloke to share a pint and a laugh with. He should be the top name on the list to replace Scott Parker at Bournemouth. And also tops on the list of Leicester, Villa, West Ham, and Everton when they sack their managers. Although the thought of facing him in the derby twice a year is not something I’d look forward to.

I'm glad Dyche made a point about the passing style... everyone acts like "long ball" is boring. But Liverpool arguably play the most exciting style of football in the world (when it works) that's because of Alisson, Van Dijk and Trent pinging balls 50-60 yards and ripping teams open... there's a famous impressionist that does Henderson "I love running" because literally Liverpools midfield spends half the game chasing shadows. It's all tactical and each players role is refined and critical for it to work. There's a media myth "liverpools midfield lack creativity" but that's just ignorance, the space created by these runs, and the 50 yard passes, is what gives Salah and Co. The time and space for the 1v1s with the keeper... Dyche is a real football man... and the whole country feels betrayed by the Burnley board... they acted disgracefully

Is there an argument that teams like Man City and Liverpool were able to win so many points in recent seasons because most other teams aside from burnley were trying to also play this possession football that City and Liverpool were also going to dominate them in? Like 20 years ago, most lower end teams would always focus on being solid and defensive and build up through direct play, but now it seems like there's an emphasis from everyone to try and play beautiful football all the time. Either way, fantastic insight from Dyche.

Top class. Loved the tactics but also his realism that sometimes it just comes down to ‘one of those days’. Amazing video. What a guy.

Along with Allardyce, he’s one of the godfathers of haram ball in the Prem. Might not have the best team on paper, but you just knew Burnley away was gonna be a nightmare
