It’s tough doing these interviews in the most extreme part of the weight cut, it’s kind of an absurd task that we ask these fighters to do. Sean’s diet is dialed in all year round, he eats clean and when he has a fight booked he starts his cut, that way he’s not trying to take a bunch off the day before, and because he does it that way he usually gets to fight week in pretty rough shape already. Weight cutting isn’t easy for him, his build doesn’t allow it, he’s not like super muscle bound that can just sweat out 20 pounds of water and call it a day. There will never be a time where he doesn’t look rougher than his opponent when arriving at fight week, during interviews, or on the scale. It’s the fight before the fight, trying to do these interviews when you’ve been starved for the last 10-12 weeks and are in the middle of an intense cut is kind of ass to me, especially when people start drawing conclusions based off it. He has a hard time but he always makes the weight and looks incredible when his feet hit that octagon. He gets in the cage looking big and strong, so if he has to look like shit when he arrives for fight week and is fatigued and dealing with brain fog in interviews, so be it.
