Sean Paul aka "Dutty Paul"(the Jamaican one)been out since 1991 he been featured with Third World on there album. Most Americans only know there artists. They don't know other artists exist outside America, that are & been doing there thing. Only when they have an international hit, then y'all catch on & jump on the band wagon. Every country knows American artists becuz of cable TV.. West Indian people (especially Jamaicans) know Americans culture & rocking with it & travel & live over in America. So they have more variety in them. So they more variety in there party's, etc... When u go to an American club you get hips hop. Go to a Jamaican party, you get reggae(culture tunes), dancehall, hip-hop, r&b, soca, original Calypso, even some other universal stuff.
