Whats your favorite thing about how you set up YOUR showfile?
@crwndcontent
@crwndcontent Жыл бұрын
I use a Launchpad for my clips, but instead of having every clip individually assigned I have a combo of 3 clips per button, and use 3 extra buttons to control which one shows (with the Blackout Feauture). Allows you to keep your setup mouse-less , while still allowing a lot of clips ! Also works great for combining several clips for 1 song for ex.

Oh thats a cool setup, sort of like a column trigger but with a button mapped to multiple clips? and then you're toggling them in and out to mix? Could be a good use for a group too, they have their own colum triggers separate from the composition that might get you a similar result with less mapping. And i love using buttons for adding and subtracting clips from the mix. so fun to buttonmash to the beat

@Sean Bowes Admittedly never really touched groups before, definitely want to mess around with them the next time I have to do some setup. I could definitely see your idea working !

Dude, same. So much trial and error and bedroom programming only to get to the gig and realize none of this is practical lol. Loving your videos too by the way! Always learning something new even if its a topic i think I know pretty well.

hey, love the channel. I am curious what frame rate content do you prefer when vjing?
@SeanBowes
@SeanBowes 10 ай бұрын
30 or 60. Im usually making content slow and speeding things up, so 30 is fine. 60 is nice if you need to slow things down a lot or want super crispy 60fps playback. Most LED screens are set to 60fps in the US

Hi : ) Thank you for your useful video. I have just one question, at the end 8`17'', we can show in your file that you have 100 columns with at least 5 videos per layer, your computer can support this? (I have tried with 100 layers and maybe 80 videos in composition but my macbookpro M1 max can't support this)
@SeanBowes
@SeanBowes 9 ай бұрын
Yes at many festivals I have 100+ columns, 5 VJ layers, and up to 12 or 13 total layers including logos, scenic frames, cameras, and chaser effects, and 5-8 Decks (artists) per day. I dont often run all of those layers at once, but I often have 6-10 layers loaded and my machine handles it, running above 60fps all day. RAM is important for pre-loading lots of clips into memory. If you do not have as much ram, consider using less columns, maybe less layers, and more decks

The ones in this video are made with Cinema4D. I also use After Effects, Unreal, and Notch for content creation. Blender is another great option that some people use
