Hi Sean! You posted a video several years ago about getting started as a photographer. That was such a clear, instructional video that gave specific guidance, and I followed it myself. It got me a gig as an event photographer for a race in my area, and I added a ton of great photos to my portfolio and got invited to shoot it again the following year. So, I hope this message lets you know that people out there are coming across your material and using it to improve their photography in a big way. Thanks for putting it out there, keep it coming!

I drive a truck and pull flatbed. I needed a Bluetooth speaker that was going to be loud enough to overcome all the noise in that type of industrial setting while I'm securing and tarping my loads. All I can say is WOW! This speaker is insanely louder than I ever thought possible when I bought it. I'm very impressed with it every single time I use it. Definitely no regrets here.

It really is. It’s an awesome speaker! I love how portable it is too

How do you invoice a session like this? Do you charge per photo selected by the client or do you offer a package?
@indiegogogirl2662
@indiegogogirl2662 Жыл бұрын
It would be by usage. Where and how it will be used and length of time. Most commercial photographers have reps/agents negotiate this for you because they know the industry. Always keep your copyright, if not it's called a buyout and it's very expensive for client.

Dear Sean, I am dreaming of holidays ... here in rainy Germany. Whats about photoshoot, I am sure that music is giving all parizipants a party-atmosphere, that will increase the happiness of the people on location and of course beeing transferred als positive vibes into the images. I have two more questions: Can you put the soundcore under a shower for cleaning and how much power comes out, to support for exaple a small bi-colour LED. Greetings from DUS, Düsseldorf, Germany Winni

It's interesting finding this video on commercial photography. One of my friend has a friend that's looking to advertise his coffee brand, so he's looking to get photos and videos of his product. The locations that you guys were at are amazing. Great job as always.

3.30min love the setting, but I think for more realism it would be so good to have another pair of legs.. don't see girls with that huge speaker sitting alone at the beach ;)

100% agree. I actually had planned to do a shoot with a group of friends but it fell through, so we went with a more budget/minimal setup. A more minimal setup like this is more manageable for most photogs trying to build a commercial portfolio anyway, and I think it still works. Originally mentioned that in the video but didn’t fit the flow so cut it out

How come the photos look well lit with such a short shutter speed? Was an ND filter used in these shots?And any reason for using 1/5000 shutter speed?
@nielsrudnik
@nielsrudnik Жыл бұрын
An ND Filter would darken the image so a longer shutter speed could have been used. Sean had to use a short shutter speed as he was using a wide open aperture in bright light.
@seandalt
@seandalt Жыл бұрын
I don’t really pay attention to my shutter speed unless I’m shooting in low light or I’m concerned about motion (like I was towards the end). It’s only important in those 2 scenarios, otherwise it doesn’t really effect the look of your image at all, unlike aperture. When shooting with plenty of light I just use my SS to regulate exposure. Because I was shooting with quite wide apertures, I used faster shutter speeds to block the excess light.
