"thinking of lots of things at once." This lesson helped me because I was conflating d shaped triads and e shaped triads. So, multiple dots connected.

Love your well articulated guitar tips Sean … simplifying the process and communicating and unraveling the guitar neck in interesting and intuitive fashion.

I love these types of lessons where you realise that it’s so obvious you really should have noticed it before. So many videos just telling you the same thing over and over but this was a proper “Aha” moment ( not the 80’s Norwegian band ).

Thanks sean this is exactly the lesson i need! Ive messed with this tonight and its really helpful. it took me a REALLY long time to realize that scales and chords were so linked. i absolutely thought of them as different concepts.

Great vid man! I had some light bulb moments myself being able to fly up and down the neck using these shapes and understanding how the CAGED system can be broken up into smaller triads. I also was fooling around and discovered that I can play all chords in a key in the same spot pretty much. The key is to look at the CAGED system as ACE. For example, if my 1 chord is A shape triad, my 4 chord will be an C shape to the right of my 1 chord, and the 5 chord will be an E chord to the left of the 1 chord. From there, you can derive the 2nd from the 1st chord, the 3rd from the 4th, and the 6th from the 5th. Now I’m going to brush up on my arpeggios and try to marry the scales, triads, and arpeggios together. Thanks Sean!

I really appreciate your lesson on the 1,2,3 strings with the Triad, Appregios and Pentatonic ty-in. Not sure why the Diminished chord wasn't tackled for the transition. I find it to be a really nice sound and rather easy to get near the 12 th fret with a D shape. I also think learning this structure with the 2,3,4 string is a nice way to learn also. Same concept with a slightly different but easy Triad shape where you can use the same Diminished D shape for some voicing. Thanks again for some phrasing to build with this approach. I might be actually comfortable with the neck, FINALLY.
