You have taken what's basically a toy and turned it into a beautiful model. There is no denying your scratch building skills are superb and that has really helped make this Harrier build what it is.

On the intake edge of a real AV-8B ,it's painted with a clear coating. That's done to prevent chipping on that leading edge. most people don't know that, but still your work looks great, no check that, excellent

I have enjoyed this build with you - the dramas and the joys. Your attention to details and striving to achieve what the customer wanted is a true testament to your ability and patience. he should be stoked with this and I think a 'bonus" would be appropriate! Well done and thanks for the entertainment (and tips).

I've been searching under furniture for over an hour, looking for my jawbone after it dropped and hit the deck after seeing this! The sheer "oooft" factor of this scale is quite something to behold, but you have put the "oooft" on steroids! I could easily see this one inside a glass display cabinet at an AV8 squadron HQ or museum. Take a bow sir, you absolutely deserve it.

I used to build a lot of models but got out of it for a long time. This channel is really fun and informative and has inspired me to get back into it. I typically do 1:48 aircraft. I have an F-18E on the bench and will do an F-35 in the near future. I also have a Valkyrie from Robotech on the way. My young son has been watching the old Macross series from the 80's and we're going to work on that together.

I'm staggered. Having watched pt 1-8 over various evenings this is simply amazing work. It's an artform that in another life I would aspire to. And it's such a beautiful machine. You have done the machine, and the amazing guys that designed, built, serviced and flew them, a great service. I was tempted to take this up again in retirement but I won't - I just am knocked out by what you and others do with these quite basic kits and will settle now just to view the experts. Thank you.

Wow, this is astonishing. I built a couple of 1/72 scale ones one a few weeks ago and was pretty pleased with them until I saw this! I'm looking at your's, looking at mine, looking at your's, looking at mine and thinking holy sh*t, I need to improve. I'm a new subscriber by the way, having come across your channel a week or so ago and I've been binge watching your videos since. What can I say, apart from you sir, have an amazing talent, your explanations are brilliant too, you don't drone on for hours and you come across as being modest which is very refreshing. I can't wait to see what's next!

Thanks for the kind words Tim, and I’m glad you like my videos. I try to make videos that I would enjoy watching...with that said, some of my earlier ones aren’t very good, but hopefully you’ll be able to find a few helpful nuggets in them. I found it to be more helpful to compare my current models to my past models rather than compare mine to others...that way, you can see how you’ve improved and in what areas you need to improve. One thing that has exponentially improved my skills was to take on projects that I thought were above and beyond my skill level. It’s really rewarding to complete something that you never thought you could build and at the end, you’ll find that you’ve developed some new skills. Thanks again Tim!

Wow! Nice model kit. One detail I missed before... I was aware of the Harrier II's radar upgrade in the B+ update but I didn't notice until now they changed original B-model nose to an F-18 style nose! It makes sense, though. The USMC sourced APG-65 radar units from updated F-18s (known as A+ and C+ F-18s) and recycled those in their Harriers to save money. Now, whether Italian and Spanish Harriers got the same upgrade from the same source, I don't know. The Spaniards do have F-18s to it's possible they did what the USMC did and recycled the APG-65's into their EAV-8B's to save some money, too, after they upgraded their F-18A models to basic F-18C+ standard (they replaced the APG-65 radar with the APG-73 which has additional modes, faster CPU's and more memory).

A very nice realistic build. I really like the cockpit and canopy. I definitely think larger scale models take a lot more work because its possible to see a lot more detail which has to be correctly made. I look fwd to your next project.

WHOA.... That kit was not manufactured to look like that ! You did a hell of a job of "untoying" it. I have to take back what I said on a previous video about you putting in way to much time, blood, sweat, and tears into just a "toy." It was worth every minute.

Great work, like usual. I love watching your videos, they actually got me into selling some of the kits that I build, generally here in the UK, the only built models I have been asked to build are Battle of Britain aircraft but i'd love to have a go at this kit for someone (there'd be no where I could keep it at my house). Have you ever considered or done a full build video? It would be really interesting to watch! Keep up the great builds mate, I look forward to the next!
@seanerk5kt94 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ryan. I personally don’t find “full” build videos where the builder glues and paints each little part on camera to be interesting. It’s definitely a balancing act trying to provide content that’s interesting to the masses but still useful and informative.
