As a former college drum major, i know just what he felt at the end. That feeling of "something missing" after leading the band never goes away, but its never not breath taking when looking back to those times. Best time of my life.

I love the pomp and circumstance that this drum major showed, i looked always for the backbend and those high kicked toes straight marches. And the hight of the baton. Nothing like it.

Thanks, Sean, for a beautiful documentary, and thanks David for your outstanding contributions as DM for The Best Damn Band in the Land. This film is sure to stir long-forgotten memories and rekindle the fires of youth for anyone who has ever buckled up the crossbelts. Bravo.

5 years of high school marching band....two years of college show band...one year of drum corps later...I know exactly how he feels. Bless him. That last time exiting the field...bittersweet just isn't the word. You don't want to take your uniform off...you don't want the field to empty...

Sincere love for his Alma Mater radiates from Him; genuine care for all he encountered seems to be his motivation behind all his work as a drum major. On film, I feel his enthusiastic fire.

I knew Drum Major Paul Zubrot from high school and know how hard you worked to achieve your position. May your memories of each moment on that field with your bandmates live as "real" for you all your life. This short film is so special and meaningful to fans of TBDBITL everywhere. Thanks for your leadership role with the band. From a "Buckeye" living in South Dakota.

I was in high school marching band for 4 years. I signed up for Spring band at OSU in 2000 (Band 180), I did not realize I was going to be marching. But luckily, it hadn't been too long since band. And I knew how to high step. So many memories. I really want my nephew to go into band. He has the energy for it.

Great video. But if the video is entitled vs Michigan I would think it should show the Michigan drum major also.
@MichaelDawson038 жыл бұрын
+Eugene Gallagher The title does two things ... 1). it shows which game this was at thus giving context for the emotion of the moment, 2). it signifies more than likely the end of his college career (regular football season, at the date of publishing to KZbin, it is unknown what the Buckeyes will accomplish in the national championship game). Thus this is not a video compilation between the two drum majors, but giving reference to when this took place and the magnitude of it being the end of college career in the band. The video is a tribute to David Pettit and no one else.

@JayMedJsn15 жыл бұрын
A person’s sexual preference just like his or her race, religious or political status has nothing to do with this. This was about recognizing a man’s undoubtable talent and accomplishments. It was substantial enough, as well as, impactful enough that it warrant the production of a video to highlight him and present him to the entire world. Not too many people can say they’ve achieved such honor.
