Grew up a huge Buckeye fan...My dad loved the Bucks and a few years before he passed away we finally got him to a game. I didn't watch the band. I watched my father watch the band. It was like watching a kid in a candy store. The delight on his face will stay with me forever. The downside is I can barely watch this without getting choked up. Go Bucks!!!

Honestly, It doesn't matter who you're a fan of, the success and level of precision executed with everything the OSU marching band does it top notch and should be the shining example for any marching band! They are simply next level!

If you've never caught a game at the Horseshoe,, you would believe how loud the band is. It is smaller by big-time college band standards. Purdue and Texas A&M put nearly twice as many musicians on the field, but the OSU band is all brass and percussion, hence volume comes easy.

Every football season! Texas has 2 major airline hubs that I know have flights to Columbus, take a short 2 day trip out there for a game! I haven't been yet and I live in Michigan (yes an OSU fan living in michigan lol) but I have heard that it's experience that you'll never forget!

I've just started to watch this spectacular Marching Band..... Enjoyment and learning from KZbin:). Can someone please tell me what the 'I dotter' means? I've learned about the Drum Major's roll and am finding out about OHIO. All interesting and so I wish you all 'good health and good luck in all your endeavours.

Dale Stewart Thankyou so much for replying to my question. I have spent an enjoyable time 'researching' I Dotters and the Ohio marching band. I love it..... I can't wait to see the Drum Major taking his 'backwards bow and dipping the plume of his hat, and love the I Dotter's salute to the crowd. The formations are amazing and all the band members are soooo clever. Very interesting and FUN. Loving the fact that I can see this on YTube. Thanks again for taking the time to answer me:).

While they are major rivals, this pregame bears many similarities to Michigan's including the script Ohio that they "borrowed" from Michigan back in '32.

TBDBITL has become a bit like athletics in that multiple members of families participate. Fathers and uncles help sons and nephews learn the basics before they even audition. Being prepared these guys skate through auditions. Considering that fact this band dominate in music education in the state, it is quite possible that some eighth-graders can march, flash and do the Script Ohio. And blow the bell off the end of the horn. There are a handful of women and non-whites in the band but for the most part it is a white male enclave. I think somewhere along the line the state legislature legally inoculated the band against political correctness and quotas.
