Dirty Pool - SRV. Maybe one of Stevie's most underrated songs? The tremolo strumming technique used throughout is definitely one of my favourite SRV techniques. Pair it with a minor blues progression, it creates a beautifully sinister sound that I've spent years trying to nail. Finally think I got close here! Let me know what you think in the comments. Saw SRV live. Since then, I've heard so many cover his music. Most can get similar guitar tone and copy his licks, but there's always something missing. IMO, Stevie's right hand is what really made his playing (I think this is true for most guitarists). His phrasing is so dynamic. It can go from soft and gentle to extraordinarily aggressive, all while playing around with picking patterns, accents and syncopation. You're the closest I've heard. I also really appreciate some of your licks that are your own, but really compliment the song. This is really impressive.

A lot of folks don't seem to appreciate that the pick hand is every bit as important as the fret hand. One provides the notes, the other provides the FEEL. Sean definitely understood the assignment - this is an absolute tornado of excellence.

I've never seen or heard anyone match Stevie's tone let alone his playing. You, sir, got as close as anyone ever has. I'm absolutely astounded by the way you captured every nuance of his playing style and techniques, the subtle manipulations to the extreme pick attacks and viscious bends.
