I've been fishing about four or five times so far and i still haven't caught anything! I think though, that this video has been insightful enough to help me catch one soon. I've just been tossing a line out hoping it would work, I'm thirteen and my dad never fished so i don't really have the same guide as a lot of people have, KZbin videos like this really help me, Thanks!
@seansoutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I hope you get a chance to get out fishing and enjoy it as I have.
@paddygriffin31817 жыл бұрын
yeah luckily as I'm thirteen and its summer there's lakes within 10km so while my parents are away at work i can go out and fish on the nice days once i can get some bait and stuff, the downside is acquiring lures and bait and such, especially when i lose them due to things like my line breaking, I'm gonna have to do some research on my current set up.

This video is not only insanely informative but from a comedy point of view hysterical. Just the brazen confidence mixed with passion of detailing the equipment, showing your not messing around, to an immediate transition to the lake "As you see I caught one on my first cast." and "I'm catching fish cast after cast and if you can tell from the others around me, they are not." Then for w/e reason the chill almost sexy music selection 10 minutes in. And to be clear I'm not trying to make a dig at how you make your videos or even your music selection. It's just awesome to watch someone be really good at what they do while disregarding the norms for the presentation of it and in those irregularities births comedic effects. I don't know why I wanted to analyze it so much but I was laughing constantly ever since you hit the lake. Also John Orbsleave must be the Nat Pagle of this world.

Within a month he had about 150,000 subs and then kind of moved on and stopped talking to me. I still consider him a friend but I don't hear from him anymore. This technique will work in any stream really well for other fish as well. Check out the other video I did on this topic and you will get a good sense of how we used it in a stream. It basically helps to suspend your bait off of the bottom and the fish get a chance to bite it rather than you getting hung up on the bottom. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIKcc3athLN_g9U I have used this very effectively for small mouth bass.

However I will be staying at Babcock State Park in West Virginia later in the month and want to fish for trout in the available streams. I like minnows the best no matter where I am at. Some places don't allow minnows. My second choice baits are wax worms and salmon eggs. in the following video I used almost exclusively salmon eggs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIKcc3athLN_g9U God bless you.

very helpful video! i learned a lot. maybe you have another video on what you are doing once you get the bait in the water? you said what not to do, just put the rod down and wait, but should i just be reeling in slowly (or quickly), jerk my rod around a little bit? i don't know. haha. i started fishing for the first time last year without mentors really, just i remember from going out with my pappy as a kid. had some success using worms and powerbait. i couldn't catch anything on a lure to save my life. lots to learn!

Just let it sit there if you are in a lake. If you are not getting any hits after a little while then real it in slowly and cast to a different spot... God bless

I use a 13' cheap collapsible "panfish" rod from Walmart. It cost me around $9, has no reel, and works pretty well for both stream and stocked pond trout fishing (for me). I use a strike indicator (used for fly fishing) as a float, and then I use a size 12 or 14 hook. I also tie little 1/80 oz jigs that are pretty deadly. They like flashy things in our water, and if they dont' want flashy...they want something that looks "buggy", and I usually go armed with both. And when that fails.....I get out my canned corn, haha.
@StormLaker8 жыл бұрын
I fish a lot of tangly overgrown streams. We also have limestone overhangs, trees over creeks, etc. The extendable rod lets me ease in a jig/bait on a 2-4 foot long piece of 2-4lb flourocarbon line. It's a bit unconventional, but it works, haha. It's sort of like when you are playing pool and need a reacher when you have an off angle shot across the table, haha. I carry a 5' spinning rod, and also I pack a 7' 3wt fly rod in my truck when I go. More often than not, the 13 footer gets used. Most of our creeks are shallow, and can be jumped across easily. I mainly like to lower my bait ahead of the fish and let it drift into their faces- I fish facing upstream, or I try to get at them form the side using available cover as camouflage. I even wear full camo, and often fish from behind trees along the bank or even creeping up over beaver dams. As I said...unconventional, but it's a lot of fun and it works, haha.
