Slaying stocked trout with Powerbait Mouse Tails at White Clay Creek in Newark, DE. When the dough/eggs didn't work, this bait crushed em! Definitely a great bait to add to the trout season arsenal!
Setup:
5' Cabelas Ultra Light Combo
4lb test
Size 12 & 8 hooks
1/32 oz Split shots
Power Mouse Tails
Serious shout out to the guy who gave me the heads up!
Thank you guys so much for 100 subscribers! Lets keep this rolling. I'm super inspired to create more content and for the videos to get better every time.

You seem a very fine young gentleman to me. It was very nice to acknowledge the help from the other fisherman. And you're sending THE good message when saying people care for each other where you're fishing. We need more videos like this and for all those reasons, you have a new subscriber.

In my humble opinion, the fishing community is one of the best I know. I'm a young bass/trout fisherman and everyone I've met while fishing have either become close friends or have always given me helpful advice. People dislike fishermen because they claim they're grouchy and angry, but the reason fishermen get like that is you're probably either encroaching on their fishing spot or breaking one of the other unspoken rules of fishing. You're one of the fishermen I enjoy watching because you're all positive vibes. Tight lines man!

Awesome job catching trout. I'm not too good at catching them. I read other comments left for you, don't take their comments to heart, some people can just do nothing but be critical and rude. This works. I use a 1/32 jighead(orange, pink, chartreuse with eyes) with a 3" powerbait worm with about 3/8" pinched off from the top. Looks like a mice tail, but smaller and the weight is in the lure. Me and my buddy caught over 50 trout between us here in South Carolina yesterday.

May 17, 2019---Thanks for the video as I've never seen these things used before. As for fishermen, it seems to me our conversations boil down to 3 things: how ya doin', catch anything and what are you using? Being retired, I can go fishing anytime, any where I want. But I usually go during the week just so I don't run into a lot of others also fishing. I prefer bass fishing and using nightcrawlers on a Alabama rig, while brother does the same, but using a rubber worm and a sinker above it. More than once I'd get my limit and someone will be beating the water with different lures until steam if coming off the water. When I'm done fishing, I'll offer them what nightcrawlers I have left, which they usually take. One guy saw me catching a bunch of small ones which I released until he told me he was hoping for that size for a pond he had built on his property. So he got them after that and yes, he had a cooler and aerator in the back of his truck to keep them alive on the way back home. He ended up catching a 3 pound bass he was going to let go :-( , then asked me if I wanted it?! What I catch (unless too small), I eat. As for head/guts, they go into a plastic bag and left in the sun till the next fishing trip. That stinking stuff goes into my crawdad traps.Used to use a stringer like yours, but usually the fish died before I got home to clean them. Bought one of those collapsible baskets with a spring loaded lid on it. With 30' of paracord on the handle, I'd toss the basked out 15-20' and fish stayed alive till I got them in my cooler. And several times, had other bass come cruising over to see what they were doing in the basket and I'd catch them too!

I always use ultra light rods but I really want to try getting into using a fly rod. I've tried on my own before but quickly gave it up. It seemed like everytime I got a hit my leader or tippet would just snap and I was really having a hell of a time getting my flies to land and be presentable right away. I have far mor accuracy with a spinning rod. I know I just need more experience and the right set up. I've already caught a nice brook trout in 2019 with a little maggot tail...sort of like what in video. But I mostly catch and release besides we have to until like may.

Also with snags line your rod up with your snag amd pull the handle of your rod towards you. You want almost no bend in your rod tip while doing this. If you do it right you won't snap off near as often. You might snap off 1 out of 10 times.

Just saw your video great video man!! But just so you know for your next trips. Those are actually native fish!! They have out of post fins in top by the tail! Those little back fins are clipped if they are a hatchery fish. That’s the same rule for trout, steelhead, and maybe salmon i don’t know. But those native fish are actually illegal to keep!!! That’s why they are so full of color and the cheeks are all Rosie looking. Native fish are typically much fatter and more beautiful looking!!! You can copy a Gene but it won’t be perfect. So we wanna keep the native fish as long as we can!!!

When I do my trout fishing I do use Berkley gulp 1 inch minnows & the color I do use most of the time is chartreuse shad. They truly are 97% more effective than any other powerbait that's out there today + they are also 97% more effective than any live bait that's out there as well. Also when I use these Berkley gulp 1 inch minnows I do use them on a small trout magnet Shad Dart. And when I do use these when I'm fishing it's like a Feeding Frenzy. When I use these I gently jerk them or bouncing them off the bottom. Like seriously when the trout hit these they hit them hard and will not let go. Ever since they came out with these Berkley gulp 1 inch minnows I do not use nothing else. I got rid of my trout magnets. I do not use anything else except for Berkley gulp 1 inch minnows the best there is in the best there will ever be. Not only that but I hate to admit this. but Berkley gulp 1 inch minnows do out fishes other powerbait as well. Oh yeah before I forget I think they come in 25 in a little jar. Yes they are so totally worth using. Guaranteed

caught a brown and didn't even know it lol and the net has a sliding handle so the fish can fit easily in the hoop and you don't have to lean over the dam to get them in. sure the repeating comments are getting old, but your learning. also wading into water full of snags below a dam is really risky if you fell into a hole full of logs and got your leg stuck you could have easily drowned just be careful thanks for sharing.

I never thought you can throw your bait towards the current and the fish will actually see your bait while all that commotion is going on I really want to know

Well a lot of it has to do with the mouse tails smelling pretty strongly to the fish
