Holy hell, brotha, didn’t know you hadn’t heard of these guys! This song was written in their TEENAGE years! Definitely had some Maori chant vibes, they are Maori from New Zealand. Their newer tracks have definitely progressed. I’d highly recommend Holding My Breath, Buried Underground, or Hatupatu to get you started. Here’s how I describe Alien Weaponry - if the Boogie Man had nursery rhymes to put him to sleep, this is the sound it would be. Great reaction & analysis.

Hahaha great description. Very accurate 😂

Kai=food Tangata=people. The title refers to ritual cannibalism which occurred during times of war. It was used to attack your opponents "Mana" (authority/honour/pride/power). Eating your enemy was a sign of huge disrespect for his Mana. Thank you for the reaction.🔥🖤

Hi :-) an Aussie here :-). I just found Alien Weaponry today on Spotify!. I have looked up every last song now and reaction on KZbin. I'm a huge metalhead but haven't found something so close to home apart from Northland that I have loved. But Alien Weaponry is now my fave metal band!.

@@ninakiewietcorrect, ritualistic cannibalism existed, the "key word" is enemies NOT friends. Alien vs Traditional Weaponry, great play on words. Tumatauenga, phonetically to-mah-toe-eng-a is the cultural deity of Man and War. Great, combination of cultures, NZ are stil world leaders regarding cultural awareness, understanding and practice. It's definitely metal like Organized or Disciplined CHAOS!!

The "dance " is haka it can be considered a war dance or celebrate , or a challenge . The band was young youngest was 14 and some of those "actors" tamoko aka tattoos are real not drawn on , the songs about loosing cultural beliefs and loosing touch with your culture and ways and then going back to the sacred warpath and fighting a tribe that has the strength of the ancestors and itself being gifted by tumatauanga the god of war... Mahi = work, tumatauanga= god of war . So it's the work of the god of war , noticed the body being dragged at the start coming back to life after the work was done , it's a symbolic gesture to the tribe that's cursed and can never die and constantly fighting . Our official army name is Tumatauanga , there is and English lyrics to it , which will help

I saw Alien weaponry at the power station in Auckland Aotearoa new Zealand they were bloody wicked with first class crowd interaction it wasn't us and them it was just one Big party before their last song told the crowd to come hang out with them at another pub after the show and talk shit that pub would have had a record night over the bar I'd say . Hay I'm going to make a few suggestions kiwi music wise. Firstly from Taranaki on the west coast of the north island three piece STICKY FILTH 1985-20?? song to check out (Happy birthday to us) these guys have opened for suicidal tendencies Bad Brains and the MIGHTY MOTORHEAD here in Aotearoa have a crack if you have time
