My former Border collie Boss was absolutely obsessed with fishing. He loved being in the Kayak so much, that when you’d pull to shore for a break, he’d pee then jump right back in the kayak sit and wait for break to be done. Even a week before he passed I took him ice fishing and really made his day even though he was very I’ll. Couple vids of him fishing on my channel. One Ice fishing and the other a FENWICK preview

So lovely and relaxing to watch, Sean! "Loch" actually means "Hole" in German, and given the relatedness of the West Germanic languages (Scots, German, English and others), that makes sense. Kind of. A water-filled hole, I guess. But most importantly, that is some stunning nature you have there in Scotland. Thanks for the videos!

I heard and read of fly-fishing all my youth, but couldn’t find anyone to teach me. I tried it once or twice, and failed spectacularly. It was good to finally see it. And you made it appear so effortless. Thanks also for the shots of the ducks hunting in the reeds. Reminds us that one of the main beauties of fishing is that it makes us sit still and quiet until nature resumes its business around us, allowing us to see things that humans don't usually get to see.

Beautiful loch, and the trout that you caught was gorgeous! I used to live in the eastern part of Montana and there would be lots of fly fishing all over the state during tourist season - I'd see the rod cases coming off the luggage belt at the Billings airport. Lots of guides with their drift boats, and gear/fly shops in all the towns. Never was interested to try fly fishing myself but I loved to watch the people who tied the flies do their work - from the tiniest lures to truly huge! Thanks for the fishing video and sparking all the memories I had from living out west. 😊

Well, good to see you having a bit of "down time" to yourself. Beautiful place kiddo. Looks a lot like some of our high mountain lakes here in N.E. Washington state. My oldest son fly fishes a lot. He looks for what is "hatching" bug wise that the fish might be eating etc. My hubby fishes (we both kayak). He fishes and I have our Border "Patriot" on board with me. She enjoys everything & I enjoy sketching the beauty around us. Usually a fun day for all - 2 kayaks & a wonderful dog. Artwork and a bonus of fish for dinner :) So glad you got to enjoy some quiet time kiddo.

I love how you observed the speaking softly over the loch, even though there didn’t appear to be anyone else there, and that you caught and released that beautiful rainbow trout. After seeing all your videos and including this one, I think the British Chamber of Commerce BCC should give you an award! Scotland looks a lot like fishing in the Westcoast of the US, spent a lifetime fly fishing the streams and lakes of the Sierra Nevada's, Coast range and Cascades as well as the Rockies. Mostly Rainbows, Browns, Cutthroats, and Brook trout. Even some salmon and Steelhead. (anadromous Rainbow species) One fly I use when it is slow fishing is a black or brown leech. Usually tied with a bit of lead wire at the head and covered with dubbing (hair) and down of the same color. In many lakes out here, it is a very good fly during mid-day. You want to cast out past the reeds and let it sink pretty deep then start a short slowish striping retrieve, about six to eight inches at a time. Makes it look like a live swimming leech.

Fly fishing in clear lakes, Lochs or Ponds is different to catch anything because the fish see everything including your leader line, I fished a similar lake near Windermere in the Lake District full of Rainbow Trout but failed to catch a cold the water was like glass clear and the fish were not having any. I even tried thinner tippet line and every single fly and depth I could but it wasn't to be lol 😂

But i didn't give if much thought but today after watching the beautiful place greenery you are living, i now regret about it 😂😂but i m sorry to say but i find fishing a cruel thing to do. For men its a time pass fun time but for fish its about their lives and even if you release them but they must have deep wounds in their mouth. And how much pain they will go through because of it till it heals or may be never get better. But it ok thats my opinion and everybody has a right to live his life as he please.😂
