I’ve been watching this video over and over😭😭 and one thing I picked up is that when he’s doing the 2-5-1 progression as he changes keys, it can also be seen as a 7-3-6 progression in the original key (but the 6 would be a major chord because at the moment you’re thinking of 2-5-1) I hope that helps and hopefully if you guys see anything interesting to point out y’all drop it in the comment section too!✨

EXCELLENT VIDEO! To a guy that was labeled as "gifted" playing by "ear" and playing the piano & organ for my church the age of 11 - 18, growing up in the church, where I was doing some of this without able to describe it at the time...but I had developed an excellent "ear" from my practice in being in a professional boy's choir, from ages 9 -12. Now, as I'm getting back into playing as an adult, I will take advantage of your training, to help me get back into it again. Thank you so much.

Minor third relationships, natural relationships... makes sense Sean. I guess I hadn't thought about that so in essence: • If you're in the key of C, the relationship is either Eb • If you're in the key of C#, the relationship is either E • If you're in the key of Eb, the relationship is either F# So on and so forth... :) ...thus going out of the key/ or applying the "transitional." Incredibly useful tip. Thank for for sharing this, I had to come back to this video and really hear your comments again. This video is Amazing folks, ...absolute FIRE!

The B minor seven flat five (b d f a) chord belongs to the C major scale as a seven chord. The B minor seven flat five (b d f a) chord also belongs to the A harmonic major scale as a two chord. This makes it a great chord to pivot from C to A. Sean says when we hear this chord b d f a where are we? In C or A? Thanks Sean for your gifted perspective.

This lesson about borrowed chords or modal interchange is taught clearly and simply the most exciting and challenging manner I've could ever hope to find. You patiently, with enthusiasm - probably over the pracrice challenge - j/k taught and explained the using the parallel (maj/min) and relative (maj/mjn) chords within the key the song is performed. What I'm just about jumping out of my skin with joy is; voice is my primary instrument performance, teaching/coaching and I've always heard in my head notes that signs probably be heard as not fitting in the key structure. In many cases I've maintained both vocal & instrument responsibilities. Over the years I've been learning and shall continue to learn piano/organ to better serve, striving to get better day by day, performance by performance. I hear modal changes in my head as a vocalist - well now - thanks to you Professor I'm feling stronger already- I have not done the practice assignment....to think that what I hear in my head I have options - sing it, play it or both!! Your heart and burden for music and musicians is evident to the eye ear and heart! Thank God for the gift that is you and investing in all who are benefited!! Loving you God bless
