Seaplane Takeoff From Miami Seaplane Base On Watson Island

A seaplane takes off from the seaplane base next to the Port Of Miami. The video begins with the plane taxiing out of the seaplane base on Watson Island and in to the water near the cruise ship terminal. Full power is applied at 1:05 and takeoff is at 1:30 in to the video.
The plane is heading to the Resorts World casino on Bimini island.

Beautiful video! And yet, I can’t help but think of the historic airline that was lost here. I think about the potential of what this base could have become for Chalks had it been still in business. Would they have expanded ‘X44?’

for the seaplane, the lake where the plane took off from could be the runway, and the house where the plane was parked at could be an airport
