An emergency signal mirror w/retro reflective aimer might be a good addition to your ditch bag.

Wheres the copenhagen and speed tape? In all seriousness, I am a 130 Rescue guy, but I still carry a Garmin inReach with me. I use it personally for offshore fishing and hiking around the world, but it is extra piece of mind for work. I also find my Garmin Fenix watch to be a huge SA tool. They were actually able to determine that one of the USMC F18 pilots that went down near Oki was alive for 9 hours after ditching overwater from the data collected by his watch. I think we should all have them and luckily my squadron is working on getting them issued to us. Great video!

This is so awesome! can you do a video on a survival bag that maybe a civilian can utilize as well? assuming we do run out of everything like everyone is panicking for? I know toilet paper and paper towels are a must but I missed that window LOL

Haha. When you threw your ditch bag aside at the beginning, I was reminded of my friend Ken when he was building his Quickie self-built aircraft. I was over at his house in his garage one day where he was doing the work. He picked up the fuel level sensing mechanism that went into the Quickie's gas tank and sent info about the gas level to the cockpit. It looked like a relatively sensitive, perhaps even delicate, mechanism. After he was done explaining it's operation to me, I was somewhat shocked to see him toss the mechanism across the room onto a pile of other parts. I made a mental note at the time that maybe it wasn't such a hot idea to fly with Ken in his new aircraft, given the casual and perhaps even rough way he was treating potentially critical components. By the way, shortly after the plane was completed, something went wrong with the aircraft and Ken crashed.

It's type model specific. It's a pocket checklist for the MH-60S aircraft for emergency procedures.
