Wow. Just wow. Best video on KZbin by a country mile. Well done.

What a coincidence! I have just found your podcasts (through Twitter) and saw this one. It's on our next planned route on the moor, brilliant. :)

Visited pixies cave numerous times as a child as I grew up in Dousland. Recently took my son there to see it too

What an excellent video. Really good job! Thanks for sharing this fascinating story and wonderful scenery. Dartmoor is now firmly on my list of places to visit 👍

Thanks, John - very kind. You can't go wrong with a trip to Dartmoor - just stay on the right side of the Piskies!

I can attest that since making this video I have been getting lost and losing things more often on the moors. I've been thinking that I'll have to find a way to apologise to the pixies!

@@thedartmoorpodcast Traditional gifts were pins or coins. Or something biogradable and natural - shiney pebble or honey in a nut shell. Last time I was at the pixies cave there was a chap who had lost his mobile phone. He hadn't brought a pixie gift. A friend and I both git flat tyres on Dartmoor within 3 days of each other after visiting a pixie haunt. Coincidences? Mmmm? 😊

Haha love the inclusion of “where is my mind” at the end

George, stumbled across this somehow. Lovely to see your face and hear your dulcet tones. Not only do you orate beautifully and tell a wonderful story, but it is very engaging (and calming). I hope life is treating you well my friend. Best wishes as always, James (Jimbo/Pyney/Pyno) x

Such an enchanting video 🙂...I can't help thinking that the Pixies would love to have you 'visit' their underground spaces, to regail them with your tales 😉. They like music too, so my distant memory of you having a flute (?) will mean you'll fit in just fine 👌
@thedartmoorpodcast10 ай бұрын
I have absolutely no idea where your distant memory of me playing a flute is from! XD I play a bit of guitar, though, so maybe that'll do!
@h.bsfaithfulservant413610 ай бұрын
@@thedartmoorpodcast Is this a ploy to get me to rifle through your other videos?? Maybe you were whittling something that resembled a flute? I'll take another look, and report back... Guitar is good...they like fiddles better, but if guitar is all you have, then that will have to do 🙂 I hope you're enjoying the festive season 🎄

@@thedartmoorpodcast Re: flute. At 3:20 on your review of the Ludwig (Ludvig?), there is a blurred section to your right? I contend that the flute is hidden in the blurred bit...either because the Pixies are pinching it, and making you forget that you ever owned it, or because there's bits of Dartmoor that get blurred out of KZbin videos...and I get shadow banned for mentioning the fact 😬. Oops, I've done it again 😉

Thank you! You, too... Whittling seems like a possibility.

Great story telling and I love the humor, but I guess you would expect that of an english teacher (did you say?). I liked it so much I've now started to watch all your 'not podcasts'. I particularly enjoyed this and the 'big cat diaries'. Have not see any pixies or large cats on the moor yet, but I'll keep looking. Apologies for the bad spelling and grammar 🙂

Thank you very much! Yes, an English teacher, but don't worry - I don't check the comments for mistakes. Good luck wading through all my nonsense!
