William Lewis Reece, a notorious serial killer, known for the gruesome murders of three women in Texas, was later linked to the killing of a fourth woman in Oklahoma. The case took a chilling turn when authorities were informed that some of his potential victims, along with their vehicles, were still missing. Suspicions arose that the water bodies in the area could be his dumping ground, hiding both the victims and their vehicles.

Prompted by an email from a Lieutenant Marine Deputy, AWP set out on a quest to bring closure to the families and justice to the victims after learning Reece was sentenced to death and there would be no chance of him getting out of prison. The deputy had spotted an alarming number of cars, between 15 to 20, underwater, leading the team to consider the possibility of this area serving as Reece's preferred disposal site.
The operation, much unlike bureaucratic law enforcement agencies, was free of red tape and charges. The team, equipped with sonar and divers, was determined to identify and investigate each submerged vehicle. The team aimed to pull out plates, check for signs of insurance fraud, and above all, look for evidence linking them to missing persons' cases.
The search was complicated by factors such as dredging for shipping channels, which not only disrupts the original crime scene but also moves vehicles, sometimes piling them up on each other. Windows, not initially busted, may have been broken due to this, and any potential human remains may have been washed out of the vehicles due to flooding.
Despite these challenges, the team made remarkable progress. Using sonar, and then diving to identify marked vehicles, including cars, trucks, and minivans. They found one particularly clear image of an upside-down car, arousing curiosity and speculation.
Among the divers and sonar operators was a local firefighter and the canine coordinator for the Oklahoma Task Force, armed with his cadaver dog, Truman, prepared to alert the team if they found anything suggesting human remains.
As the divers continued to navigate the underwater minefield of cars, they spotted what seemed like a vehicle under a bridge. The sighting was concerning, pointing towards a possible tragic story hidden beneath the surface. As the investigation continued, the team braced themselves for what they might uncover, hoping to provide answers to families who have all but given up on finding their loved ones.

I have an aunt that went missing during his killing spree while she was driving from Houston to Dallas. I've reached out to different law enforcement agencies asking her path and nothing was ever found. I was a kid when she went missing and the family did nothing. I started searching after her son, my best friend, died, because i wanted her to know. I can't wait to see what y'all find. I’m so sorry about your missing aunt. All too often, missing persons, children and adults, alike, are overlooked for all the wrong reasons, color of their skin, previous runaway, prostitution, etc etc. No matter their past or present, if something is out of character, if it’s not like them to not be in contact, I don’t understand why law enforcement don’t try harder. When my military veteran cousin with a TBI, went missing, as he went across country, NOBODY took us serious.

@@badwolf2317 no because I didn't think she had a vehicle accident I'm pretty sure she was murdered by one of the several serial killers we had running around here back then. 2 of which have already been executed so now that my mom, her sister, is on hospice care I'll look more into it after she passes since it would break her heart to know something bad happened to her favorite sister. I will tell the other sisters though and blame them since they are the hateful winches that made her leave.

I found you guys this morning via watching magnet fishing vids. I’m in the UK. I’ve seen enough crime stuff from the USA to know about the dumping grounds and patterns from serial killers. Problem with the USA Is it’s so so huge. So much open water, swamps, forests… People just vanish. I pray you are able to find some answers for the poor families of people missing. It’s so eerie isn’t it seeing the cars all dumped on each other. Wonder if they thought the barges would demolish them? And there’s such a straight line it’s ridiculous… Thank you for everything you do. My 1st vid was of the poor 16yr old girl at the graduation party.. absolutely heartbreaking. True Story: My mom and her siblings would walk by a pond every day after school and one day they noticed a strange object peeking up but thought nothing of it, maybe a piece of muddy plywood. Next day they see more of the object only this time there is a small clear portion. They go home to tell my grandma who checks it out and immediately calls police. It was a car with a woman inside who had been missing for several months. They suspect she slid off the icy road where she plunged into a watery grave ☹️

I am another subscriber from the UK, Wales to be precise. I enjoy watching this channel and the great work Jared and the team does to bring closure to families of missing loved ones. The one clip I watched that really hit hard was the recovery of Jacob Vanzant and seeing his image on sonar halfway out of the rear window. After watching the dive and recovery I couldn't face watching for a little while in case there were similar situations and sonar images. I will catch up on recent uploads as I think the work that Jared, Doug and the AWP team do is courageous, extremely kind and makes me think that there are definitely still good people out there in the world. I pray that the serial killer's victims are brought home so that their families are brought their closure and will get their chance to say goodbye, lay their loved ones to rest and begin the grieving process. As for the killer, I hope he gets what he deserves sooner rather than later. Why should American tax payers money go towards keeping him incarcerated, getting a cell, bed, three square meals a day after what he's done. He should pay with his life for all the lives he's taken and lives he's destroyed in the process. Not a quick death but a long, agonising one. AWP are an amazing group with amazing members, who do their utmost to help those in need of answers. Keep up the fantastic work that you all do. It's great to see and hear that others are taking up similar work due to the influences of AWP. A massive round of applause to those too.
