During World War II many allied planes were shot down or crashed, most often on routine freight and passenger movement flights. One surrounded by mystery for many years was Beautiful Betsy, a USAF B-24D Liberator bomber that crashed without trace in 1945.
Beautiful Betsy was discovered by a Ranger in 1994 when surveying back burning work, she is now scene for an outdoors memorial site deep in Kroombit Tops National Park, and on this trip we venture in for a look.
