I’m just a beginner fisherman just got my first casting rod and reel. Looking for a general all purpose braid to be able to use on all different types of fresh water baits. "Don't finger hook me"... yep that happened to me on my last crankbait catch lol. I caught a gnarly little bass from the bank that had been caught about 12 times before. Had holes galore all in it's face. My tackle bag and pliers were 150 yards away down the bank... stupid I know! The treble hook got went in a fap of skin not torn then TWISTED itself into that flap. God I had hell unhooking that fish trying not to tear it's cheek any farther than it already was... at the one minute mark I gave it about 10 seconds in the water then tried again to unhook it... just as I almost had it unhooked, he THRASHED and buried a hook into my finger lol. I got it out but it hurt like hell. So I was pretty irritated at this point. I managed to not throw the bass back into the water... I set him down in a little hole, secured my pole, went back and got my pliers. Still took another minute to get the hook out! I'll never forget that catch! My finger was screwed the rest of the trip lol.

So I throw crankbaits every body of h20 that I fish whether it’s a pond lake or river “usually from a bank” and never have any luck with any of the cranks I throw any tips,ideas what I’m doing wrong remind you I’m from the Oregon coast- anyways don’t know if that makes a difference but I’d love that see a bank and crank session video soon If possible!?

I totally get fishing parallel when on the boat,its wierd on the boat you cast close to shore and when your on the bank you kinda cast away from the bank.so when on the bank fishing is it also smart to cast parallel?
