Welcome to my full walkthrough of "Riven: The Sequel to Myst," a captivating puzzle-solving, point-and-click, first-person exploration game developed by Cyan. In this "amnesia run," I'm playing the new real-time, fully-3D remake, released on June 25, 2024. This version features stunning updated graphics, improved controls, enhanced puzzles, and VR support.
Continuing the story from 1993's "Myst," I once again control "the Stranger," who must assist Atrus, an artisan and explorer, in rescuing his wife Catherine from the clutches of Gehn, Atrus's manipulative father and ruler of Riven: a beautiful world of interconnected islands. To save Catherine and return safely, I'll need to unravel the intricate mysteries of Riven, learn about its inhabitants, and confront the power-hungry Gehn. Who's telling the truth? What does that switch do? How do I open this door? Join me on this let's play to uncover all the answers!
Originally released by Cyan on October 31, 1997, "Riven" garnered critical acclaim and became the best-selling game of the year. Unlike its predecessor, this follow-up offers a more directionless approach to its puzzles and storytelling, but rewards with its expansive world building, deep lore, and gorgeous design. It's a game that has captivated me since I first played it 27 years ago, and I’m thrilled to dive into this modern remake and share the adventure with you.

The exploring is sort of a puzzle in itself to figure out where to go and what you need and gather information Make sure not to miss information and things like that I like when games do that over softblock so restart needs to happen

If you haven't figured out yet that new items you have is a spy type glass that shows hints. not sure what that nail thing is, but you can use the glass to line up the lines to it.

those structures do have something to do with something. If us look at them with the glass you can see how to aim the nails.

The totem things with the spiked wheel are not decorative, you just need to look at them the right way

They used real bird sounds i am able to tell they probably typed in forest bird sounds or something like that There are a lot of mp3 bird sound well animal sounds in general So they probably took what fit best to this environment

Eventhough thats a made up language most likely i am interested in it i know the alphabet to one dead celtic language because its on a star pendant i tend to wear I also always liked Latin and very good at picking it out in songs and i am the one that asked nintendo about the cat bowser song being latin and they first said no but the creater to the music in that game i suspect said yes its latin So that line gigabowser jigglypuff means something it might not make sense but its latin and i paused to listen to that song so i didnt mess up the order
