If you want to catch a lot of fish you need to know their patterns, I own 150 acre land here in Texas with a good size private pond that I have bass stocked up with, and let me tell you first hand can you catch bass on a fast moving bait during winter? Sure you can, but that doesn't mean you will catch a lot of them. Here in Texas for the past 2 weeks the high has only been in the low 30's, and the best way I've caught bass is using a very slow moving bait like a texas rig, drop shot, carolina rig, etc. When it gets cold, bass are like human, they don't want to spend more energy to chase prey, they will want something easy and slow.
