Searching for Joy while Dying from Cancer: Excerpts from a Hospice Journal

Julie Geiger Mercer (12/1/54--2/2/18) began a journal when she entered hospice care after struggling for 18 months with stage 4, metastatic melanoma. Her husband, Evan Mercer, read excerpts from her journal at her memorial service. He was swamped with requests to record it (by oncologists, nurses, social workers, etc.) so that it might be used to comfort patients and educate doctors, nurses, and other care-givers. And so here it is:
