I've never seen any group hunt with finds like that in a city park!! Damn, I wish I lived near Chicago!! I'd be tickled to join up with a hunt like that!! I found my first Indian last week after 1-1/2 years of detecting!! Stellar hunt, Hiluxyota!!!

The 1897 barber quarter is in really good condition id say roughly a "vf" grade. Its hard to believe these things come out of the ground, well hope u have great luck in the future my friend.

They all sound like crap because of junk that they are sitting next to .. Im sure some went over them thinking they were trash , and some probably never had a coil over them because of the size of some of the parks out there ..almost impossible to cover every inch of a place ..

I used to detect also.. I would not rub my coins like that though. The sand and dirt scratches them up, so your shovel ding doesn't matter that much. Keep on digging....

Seeing old coins still being pulled from old parks reminds me of us here in the Burgh. Good recoveries all. Like the Seated (who doesn't?) Being with friends make's the hunt special .. do you crown a king Tom? How heavy is your crown. lol

its definitely rare to find 2 at a Chicago park .. But they are out there , You will find one . I found most of mine in rivers , or door knocking old houses ..
