Searching for Platypus in Bombala

When you are driving along and see a sign saying "Bombala - Home of the Platypus", well you have to stop.
And the great news, the sign was spot on. Even though the weather does not cooperate, the Platypus do and I have several sightings. It is so much fun to watch them "play" in the water.
The town also offers and stroll through the old convent cottage and a look back at all things old. And then it's off the abandoned railway station were you are invited to wander around and walk along the unused tracks.
Sadly this vid is a little short as I catch the dreaded Covid but I still have a great time before my symptoms show themselves.

Sorry to hear that you got covid. It's quite a horrible illness so hope you get over it quickly. Great that you saw the platypus though!! I didn't know about the Bombala spot so will put that on the list to visit if I'm around that way. We saw Platypus in Tasmania this year and it was quite a highlight!! I'd never seen one before in the wild either. Take care & I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the Buchan footage when you're feeling better. ~ Karen

I don't know what it is about watching Platypus, they are just addictive to watch and they don't really do that much but it's still so much fun. Hope you make it to that area it really is a beautiful spot. Feeling a little better every day and should be right for our big trip. Cheers Sharyn

Great you got to see platypus sorry you got covid . Did you catch it off John or was it just coincidence you both caught it around same time . Hope your better for your big trip. Have you left for the cape yet ?

Thanks, so great to see the Platypus, wish the weather was better. Our theory is that we caught Covid together but no idea when and how. While we wear masks regularly no one in our tight friendship bubbly has contracted it and I'm guessing we just picked it up randomly. I am grateful that many friends know of my medical condition and are careful around me. Guess the infection sight will always be an unknown,

Love the platypus footage will definitely add location to a future stop...hoping the side effects of covid have eased ..there not pleasant x

@@trisherdmannsky definitely a great place to stop and the town is really friendly, just need to find an alternative camping spot that is quieter. Feeling a bit better each day. Cheers
