I am Lakota Eastern Cherokee and very much appreciate your respect for our burial sites. Also some curses are tied to sites that are disturbed. Many sites have been robbed of artifacts and placed in museums and with private collections. It’s wrong…..honor those that have walked on.

A dead body is just that. Honor the spirit if you wish As some ancient manuscript reads : "Body to earth, soul to Heaven.". This does not suggest earth is not Godly or Heavenly. It has its place. Strive to know all about the Lord
@christineplaton3048 Жыл бұрын
I once found an intact burial site. It took my breath away when I recognized it. The only identifying factor was a simple stone stop the grave. There was a massive stone not far away marking the area. It did have natural features left in place. You could disturb graves and that would be very upsetting...to descendents. Its very unhealthy to dig near graves for many reasons. You can find arrowheads in streams...or some farm fields you don't need to dig. The Colorado prairie is littered with them.
@shooter30832 жыл бұрын
Keep it comin Zach! Maybe stick a lit candle as far back as you can, to sort of gauge the air flow coming from within? Just a thought. Also, you might consider building a small, smoky fire at the entrance and watch up the hill a ways for smoke escaping.

I want to see it. I've done this in Missouri, and most often it's either a dead end, or cuts down between enough rock that you would need serious equipment or explosives to get through. I remember a cave in Missouri we were in and reached the back where there was a small hole with a TON of air coming out and filled with sand leaving about a foot open. We dug quit a bit but never did get through, would love to try it again. I'm sure there's more to the cave back there. And this was a cave where it was known that native Americans had lived at one point, lots of shellfish remains all over. Keep digging!!

When I was a young boy (maybe 10) I was fascinated with Ancient Egypt. I took a shovel and went in the woods around my house. I found some soft ground and started digging. The very first place I dug went straight down to some bones. I thought I was uncovering a dinosaur. I kept digging and brought a skull back home. My dinosaur. Turns out, it was a cow skull. I don’t know why I never dug again. Side note: I also found a very small, old house deep in the woods on our property. It had a bunch of old cans and metal surrounding it. The earth had practically taken it back.

Having Aboriginal lineage, I can tell You that burial grounds are everywhere. There were designated spots for those that homesteaders in a particular area for a period, and there are those random spots for traveling. I have found amazing things on one of my family's plots of land in Southern Washington County, Alabama right next to the Tombigbee River. Everything from musket balls, cannon balls, hand made spear heads, arrowheads, pottery, burials, fire pits with discarded game bones, etc... I'm enjoying your channel and get just as excited as You when yall when You find things.

Hey Zach, you get to videoing part two. That's some interesting stuff right there I hope that site is a big cave system. I'm an ol ginseng digger here in South central illinois about 38 yrs ago I found this cave. A big tree fell over, behind the root ball I found a hole cold air was coming out of it. For 28 years I never took anyone out to see it. For fear if they went back to it they may find cool stuff I would lose out. I ended up later crawling in there it was only 8 ft. wide 30ft long did find 3 arrowheads im 62 now disabled. Having lil, trouble walking back down to the cave. Couple years ago I found a sink hole bout 20 ft north west of it seen a hole that went down deep I need to go back with camera on a line to see what's down in there and see how deep it is. Besides the river is about 1/4 mile from those sites. And about 12 yrs ago another cave close to those others I went in in the wall about 15 ft in waist high is a hole in that wall. I took my tactical flashlight shined in that hole I never seen the other side its deep. I was little freaked out but it's an experience in its self.

What you describe sounds like test digs for Gold Mines! I don't know about your area but here in NC, that's what they could be.
@americanpatriot29792 жыл бұрын
@Scott Meacham some outfit years before I found that first cave done a test dig not sure what they were looking for. The hole was 3ft across & over 10 ft deep lots of busted sandstone around the drill site.the farm fields were 75 ft + above the dig site. I'm sure there could very well be gold in the area not a lot. But that's another thing I'm looking into this spring. It's all down in the river bottoms.

Should dig down about 4 to 6 feet then in. I know that's alot of digging bud but as you know, over time soil levels rise. If there if an opening it could be further down and doing that would make it easier to dig out. Cheers bud.

You are more likely to find a cache from Civil War. The more recent burials from 5 civilized tribes rarely are put in caves. Paleo and Archaic would put burials in caves but the depth will be maybe around 10+ feet deep from current level.
