This stuff is just oddly relaxing. Your videos are great and I didn't think I'd find myself enjoying fossil finding but here I am. I wish you success in your channel's endeavors!

I love that tiny iron pyrite ammonite. Was it some sort of peranoceras ammonite perhaps 🤔.

Got some fabulous fossils at Saltwick bay over many years of holidays in Whitby. Fell on my bum a few times getting down to that beach as well.😀😀

Oh wow, so many fossils in one video 😃 Great Liam 👍🏻 Really nice that we can see the segmentation of the half belemnite (8:31) 🤠 2 questions: What fossils can we see (2:42)? Is it a piece of wood above the ammonite piece (4:01)? 😉
@ForgottenFossils4 жыл бұрын
It's the inside of a pyrite nodule, loads of fishy bits and hooklets are inside them. Wood correct :)

Absolutely love ❤️ this video! Many of your findings were amazing! Loved that large scallop shell...it would make a great doorstop.

Awesome finds Liam , I spotted that big piece of wood I found too and left there , we must have been on that beach nearly around the same time . Can you still go on the beach for your exercise ?
@ForgottenFossils4 жыл бұрын
Yes there were afew HUGE chunks that had come down at the time. Yes I live in Whitby, so can still go but only been out afew times since lockdown.
@frugalitystartsathome48894 жыл бұрын
Having watched your vlogs I can’t wait for lockdown to end so I can take my grandson looking for some of these. I live not far from the beaches you mention and now we finally have an idea what to look for, so thanks for that! If you don’t mind telling, how did you get into fossil hunting in the first place - was it just because of where you live, something you read about, something you’ve always been interested in / done, or anything else?

That's great to hear. When I was about 5 or 6 I got a dactyloceras ammonite from Whitby as a gift and it got me hooked.

What's that find at 5:20? I've found something similar that's heavily pyritized, is it just a pyrite concretion in a weird shape or a fossil?
@ForgottenFossils3 жыл бұрын
It's the impression of an ichthyosaur vertebra
@swabianscience3 жыл бұрын
@@ForgottenFossils Thanks for replying so quickly! That's interesting, I think what I found is something else though - at least I hope so, otherwise I probably missed the vertebra underneath when I found that years ago as a child...

Hey Liam, watching some of ur older vids ! In the opening photo still of ammonite, did y'all carve the unique designs in it when prepping, or are those "hieroglyphic" designs natural ? 6:22 outstanding find‼️But my fav was the flipper, WOW. And the mini lobster.🦞Thanks for ur expertise !
