I do believe this is a case of "pandemic groups". Smaller groups like them gets most of their income from events, shows and appearances. They couldnt do that as often because of the pandemic and unfortunately disbanded :( This is very sad, i was a big Lunarsolar fan and even attended some online fansign. I think they could be very big in Korea, and i think Bling Bling had everything to become the next KARD in Latam, because Latin America fans loved their style (quite similar to brazilian funk). Didnt know a lot about Hot Issue, but they also seemed talent. We see now smaller groups like CSR, IL:Y, mimiirose debuting now, and i am pretty sure they can have a bigger lifespam because now it's possible for them to attend events. Even groups like Weeekly, who debuted very strong on 2020 are having a hard time now. It's like they stayed on some sort of limbo.

I was really sad when jyp claimed nmixx was the first one to do baile funk when: 1. They didn't bother researching the genre or giving it justice 2. BlingBling was the first one to do it,but they would never be recognized for it Also for Hot Issue I think some fans were displeased by their name choice because they thought the ceo was piggybacking off the popularity of 4minute's Hot Issue.

@felicityb932 жыл бұрын
@@vixxexo6855 Bling Bling wasn't that obscure, my guy. The promoted on the same music shows that JYPe has been sending their acts to for ages. They also have access to the same internet that the rest of us do; if the group was able to be found Latin American K-Pop fans, you can bet your ass that someone at JYP saw their debut. I'm not saying JYP copied Bling Bling because we rly wouldn't ever know. However, one cannot ignore the that big agencies stealing ideas from smaller one is a well worn tradition in K-Pop (entertainment, in general, but we talkin' about K-Pop here).

It's so sad how bigger companies just steal stuff from smaller companies / groups, it's also sadly not uncommon. Just take GWSN as an example, they started with the quirky song names. But ever since Billie started doing it too other groups took after it, but no credit to GWSN ofc... And I guess also the drama surrounding NMIXX debut where they allegedly copied Loona and Ateez

BlingBling's debut was unique though. I'm tired of the people claiming it was a failed attempt at fusing different songs or copying Itzy. They are the first ones to experiment on Brazilian funk, a genre that combines electrofunk,Miami bass and hip hop. This is how the songs are supposed to sound like. Very different from the fusion electropop,edm,hip hop of Itzy's Dalla Dalla. That's why they were so beloved by latin fans and that's why their debut mv has 8.4M views (1.9M on 1theK and 6.5M on Major9). Aesthetic and concept wise it lacks direction due to company's lack of resources.
@bastetowl32589 ай бұрын
you can still be creative even with a lack of budget. they could’ve come up with another concept besides just looking pretty on a set. they could’ve even filmed outside on the Seoul streets dancing and having fun to the song. it would’ve looked more lively, fit the music, and showed off their personalities more

One of the biggest factors to smaller company groups or middle company groups disbanding is also purely because kpop fans don't explore beyond the top groups. They just want to keep up with what is popular and they don't have time or don't care to keep up with lesser known groups for some reason. I feel it's because of the whole "nobody talks about them, so why should I?" attitude for sure. I wish we could somehow change this around again. It used to be a lot better in gen 2 and gen 3.

the thing is is that these companies want instant success but are very lazy about it at the same time. you can still be creative with sound and music video concepts even on a limited budget. they need to come up with an actual vision or even mythology around the group. like dreamcatcher is the dark horror concept group. or for example, with kiss of life they each have their struggle in life but music is what unites them and brings them together. we get to learn a little about each member before debut. also there are ways to promote that doesn’t just include music shows but these companies like you said just throw out whatever and hope it sticks and blows up big. s2 entertainment is doing it right this time with kiss of life but it sucks that they didn’t try this hard with hot issue. maybe they saw more potential in kol right from the start compared to hot issue. idk

Bling Bling had so good vocals but when they debuted, I already had the feeling that they won`t last long. For Hot Issue I had the same feeling because naming your group Hot issue like the debut song of a very well known 2nd gen group seemed like a dumb idea for me. and their debut song was so bad, I`m sorry. But icons is one of the best disbandment songs in kpop. Lunarsolar was the only group i had the hope that they`ll last longer. there aren`t many 4 member groups out there and i think it`s a nice amout of members. But i guess the main reason why all groups didn`t last long really was covid. It changed so much in the world and also in kpop and i guess it was almost impossible for small companies to do stuff during this pandemic. i`m pretty sure even bigger companies struggled at that time. it was a hard time for everybody. for private people, for companies, for celebrities, for people who have their own businesses etc. Even I lost my part time job because all restaurants had to close at that time. But nevertheless, I will never understand why it seems like every idiot is able to open up an own company in south korea. there are so many kpop managements out there for which i really can`t understand how they were able to open. many companies don`t seem very kompetent to me and almost everything they are doing seems dumb to me. major9 is a good example or another one would be blockberry creative. why can you open a company when you don`t have enough money? I will never understand this. In my country, i couldn`t start my own business because I`m not rich. but in south korea it seems way too easy.

it's upsetting companies are giving up so early.. building a fanbase and getting success takes time especially in a saturated market. these companies don't have lots of money to promote but expect to just randomly go viral .. like that doesn't happen very often like exid and brave girls' explosion happened 6 years apart and I can't think of many other examples like that (ie small unknown group suddenly goes viral not a group that was on the rise like omg nonstop or a group with famous members/good company like ive eleven) so its ridiculous to expect that. you need patience and to invest in good music and promotions to slowly build a fan base and identity and put your name out there. honestly though I don't see many companies putting that effort in anymore,, especially with how fickle kpop stans are these days moving on to the next big thing and ditching what they liked before. this doesn't bode well for nugus bc if they do blow up they'll get ditched when their next song is not a hit and the quick fickleness of the fans will cause companies to throw away groups quicker especially the small groups that don't have steady success :( honestly the way the industry is going will lead to less nugus and lesser known groups and the ones we get disbanding quicker and then we will lose so many talented idols and miss out on so much good music which would make the kpop scene more interesting and diverse.. without these groups the music is going to become much more bland I feel (especially with companies monopolising the industry and owning everything so there's no competition and push between groups so everything will just sound the same ..but that's another issue lol)

I don't even blame the companies here really... It's obvious that companies want to see them succeed and the money invested in setting these groups up is not small. I actually blame two sets of fans; The first are the ones that treat kpop as if it is free entertainment. They do not buy albums or merch and (if they can't afford that) don't even stream etc. They just add the song to a spotify playlist, watch a YT MV, and then complain about the company being 'trash' when the group makes no money and folds. The second are the ones that say they are 'into kpop' when they are really just into a single group (like BlackPink, or whoever). They crap on small groups and call them flops and refuse to give them any attention or support. Many are actually hostile, seeing the chance to punch down. In the end, the message is that if you actually do like kpop then pay attention to smaller groups as well and support them if you can. Support them with MONEY or actively stream them or whatever, but support them. I'm bored with most not doing anything and just calling a company that tried it's hardest to make it work 'trash' when they fail. If these groups don't get revenue or support why would a company or investors carry on pouring money into them?

I’ve literally got a friend who says she’s a jyp stan and only listens to artists under jyp like wtafffff this is what i hate about this industry the music is soooo good but the fans ruin it by not expanding their artists

I’m so sad to see all these amazing groups. Especially since I was a fan of all of them and kept up with everything they were releasing and doing. They all had such great potential but sadly had to disband. Wish them the best in their future

do you think you could maybe do a video on bugaboo they announced their completely unexpected disbandment today after only a year and a month since debut and us rainboos are really heartbroken and it would be nice to know why exactly a team ent failed them so badly 💔
@searchingforelris Жыл бұрын
Hey there! We're also very heartbroken about the news - these girls deserved way better! We still think that it matches our explanation of this video quite well, the group could release 2 albums, had little sales & little exposure which made their company IMMEDIATELY give them up. We're not planning on doing a separate video on them yet but we have added an addition about them in the comments. We hope you understand! Stay strong ❤️

i was a pretty casual fan of all 3 groups. i was a pre debut fan of BlingBling. seeing all their individual intro covers of each members & being so excited for their debut😭 also Hot Issue is so messed up. they were lowkey getting a lot of attention & the girls had sm potential!
@inplane99702 жыл бұрын
It's disappointing how Hot Issue disbanded without even given a fair chance. Gratata is a total bop and would definitely take off if it was just released a little bit later, having a unique sound that other popular girl groups are sporting like IVE and Le Sserafim.

As someone who owns contrast, and multiple Alice albums, follows taeryrong and listens to icons fairly regularly. Their situation always felt similar to groups like laboum and brave girls before their breaks...

The 1st two seem alright but kinda worried for H1-Key. Apparently for Former member Sitala’s case it was revealed her father supporting the Thai dictatorship was a lie.

The video was amazing as always buddy 💙 but I think it's really sad that so many super talented k-pop groups break up so early nowadays. Lunarsolar, hot issue and bling bling deserved so much more...

yewon from hot issue is participating on the universe ticket survival show! she is main vocalist material (if you want to see for yourself, just listen to the bridge in icons by hot issue, which she sings the entirety of!) and deserves to debut!! help her redebut and give her the flowers she deserves! also, nahyun was added as a member of primrose!

Honestly this just proves that some smaller companies just shouldn’t be in the idol industry. Not every group is going to be on third base out of the gate and not every group is gonna have a Hani viral fancam moment. If you’re not in it to actually grow your artist then why be in the industry?

Maybe like that, MAJOR9 only good when they promoting Ballad artist like 4MEN, Dongjun, BEN etc.

I am BLING BLING fan. The company spent so much for their promotion (they have most promotions i have seen for a nugu) and sadly, they only sold 600 copies. And tbh, it bounds to disband with they are at red.

Hey, we're sorry that this came across the wrong way. We meant that all 3 groups were not standing out from the crowd either visually (including BLING BLING) or musically (we meant HOT ISSUE & LUNARSOLAR here). BLING BLING brought super unique & fantastic music, we should have worded this better & apologize!
