My hair is thinning in the back now too, man. I thought I was safe, but nope, it started happening 10-11 years into my transition. I just buzz it down real short now. I was sad about it for a while, but it's like, well, we are in good company with a lot of other men. One thing I will say about rocking a very short buzzcut is that it's very low maintenance! Have you checked out the "Bald Cafe" channel on here? You might like it. It's balding guy inspo haha.

I feel you, bro... And I already like the low maintenance of my short hair compared to my long mane. But still... Thanks for the channel recommendation! Watching all the balding videos now, haha.

@@searchingforwhatever The guy who runs the channel is really nice. He even had a trans dude on there before. You know what, I use the minoxidil foam. That won't make your hair greasy like the oil. I've actually had some success with it too.

@@searchingforwhatever it truly is worth a shot. My doctor recommended the foam. He said you really need to stick with it for several months because initially there is a "shedding phase". You'll be like, great, I'm just getting more bald. But no, the weal hair falls out and then new stronger hairs grow back. It'll work, man. It just takes patience.

tried minoxidil (regaine), meso therapy, prescripted shampoos/ampulles, etc. and god knows what else to combat baldness - nothing worked. also took finasteride pills every day (around 40€ a pack :/ prescripted only) for around 4 or 5 years. i stopped since last year. and theres literally no difference so far. my hair doesnt recede faster, nor do i feel any emotional difference. i guess some form of hair transplantation might be the closest thing to getting our hair back (and even thats not 100% guaranteed) :(

it’s crazy to think about being 5 years on T. I’m gonna be 1 year on T when May hits and i do wonder how T will affect my body throughout the duration of my life. by the time 5 years hits I’ll be 19. there’s no documentation from trans guys that started at 14 and lived a healthy life (that I know of). am I gonna die at 30??? I think about that a lot. anyways thank you for sharing your video it was very interesting!
@recordsturn90114 жыл бұрын
@tripleBblev there is! I came out when I was 12 and it was a long battle to get my family to accept me. legally I couldn’t be put on T till 14 so I had to wait a little but I still consider myself lucky. I went to my local children’s hospital and set up an appointment with the gender clinic there. since I was 13 when I got my first appointment I couldn’t walk out with T. I did however walk out with a prescription for some pills that would stop my periods so that was nice. I live in Midwest USA a place that’s not exactly all that trans friendly. i you live in the USA and your parents are supportive you should be able to go on T at your age. the clinic that I went to only needed one parent to consent.
@searchingforwhatever4 жыл бұрын
I'd like to say that I'm quite certain that you're not gonna die at 30. :-) I guess there's just almost no documentation about trans guys going on T that early and now being healthy in their 30's because 15 years ago there weren't that many trans guys out at this young age (and able to receive HRT). I feel that nowadays it's a lot more...how shall I phrase it..."common" to come out as trans at 12, 13 or so. Because there are so many trans guys out there in media, on KZbin etc. to show that trans people exist. We are more visible now than we were 15 years ago. Which is a really appreciating evolution.

Watching this video defintenily helped me prepare for balding. The men on my dad's side of the family start to bald pretty earlier on. I have been on T for a little bit and I have more hair growth, on my hands I get hair everywhere on the hands I have not noticed any missing patches. I think hair makeup has to do with genetics, my family has an overabundance of it. There are hair strengthening things out there like Keeps.

Hi, Leo.I've just discovered your channel. I'm a cisgender gay man, 70 now, and I thought I'd share a little from my life. I started losing my hair when I was 17, well before there were any treatments. By the time I became 33, my balding was substantial. Neither of my brothers shared this trait, but my father had lost much of his hair when he was young, also. So I think you should just accept that it's part of your genetic programming. There are women who lose quite a bit of hair, too, so don't feel that there's anything wrong with you. Regarding the issue of an Adam's apple, this is a trait that many cisgender men lack. I never had much of one. And hair on the fingers? Also something that varies widely among cisgender men. So, don't fret. By all appearances you are a normal guy! Offering lots of love.

Hi Christopher, thank you for stopping by and leaving these kind words here! Oh boy, if I had started to lose my hair at 17, I would have gone crazy for sure... I must say I'm not at the point to accept my hair loss, yet. It's like with my chest. As long as there are still options left for a chance of improvement, I'll try them out, I guess. My hair has always been a substantial part of my identity in some way, and I promised one thing to myself before going on T: that I will try whatever it takes to keep my hair if I start to bald. Wish I'd be as mature as to accept it. But I'm not (, yet). ;-)

Very late to this but maybe try finesteride to help your hair or maybe even consider lower dose T
@searchingforwhatever2 жыл бұрын
The interval of my injections is pretty large, so my T dose is not superhigh anyway (just so it stays in the right range). I've thought about finasteride and also talked to my endo about it. He's not too enthusiastic about the idea of "taking away" some of the hormones that I get on purpose...if you know what I mean. Also there's this known side effect of depression. I'm not prone to that but you never know. However, I might give it a shot.
