Just to add, if anyones interested, Bendeth said that the reverb he used in Riot is the m Yamaha SPX 90 Hall ~1s preset with some upper mids and highs added

Had to comment before finishing the video. Awesome man! Gonna buy the sample for sure! But, I nees to add: Needs a little bit more distortion. Maybe if you did 20-25% on the Black Box would’ve been spot on. But, sounds so f-ing good! Gonna buy the sample for sure. 🙏🙏🙏

Haha thanks man - MORE DISTORTION 🙌🏻

The snare that changed pop punk sound! Bendeth is a genius coming up with this sound.

half agree for sure. think they were the most commercial successful one. it sounds like they just wanted that "emo" sound and lucked out. as if they were like " i want the drums to sound like aaron is playing them". ahaha

@@christopher-miles”hey Zack, we want you to hit that snare as if it owes you money”. Ah yes Commercial Success is the right term. I always had this belief because after that, I can hear the misery business snare everywhere - even in metalcore at that time 😂

hi ! Amazing sound! but... to me it's not realy paramore snare sound, it's to much "direct mic", little bit thin and less roomy (the big part of the sound). Probably wrong compressor choice, distressor is a great snappy choice but he don't built a thick warm transient. And never forget the sound of the paramore riot snare is : Zac Farro. This guy is a "crazy smasher"

Thanks, it’s maybe not a 1:1 but I think it’s close and it’s got the vibe. Of course Zac is a monster on the kit!

Sounds great man. Quick off topic question, when using Trigger 2, looks like you just create a new AUDIO track, insert Trigger and copy the original track down to it. Is that typically your approach (as opposed to say, creating an AUX and sending the original to it)?
@edwardkenemoralesСағат бұрын
Not Rhys, but yeah thats how typically Trigger is used. I am not sure about using aux tracks because usually snares are compressed and clipped making its transient hard for trigger to pickup. Maybe if its a pre fx send it will work but I dont know how each Daw handles delay compensation. So i guess just to avoid all these possible complications, just duplicate the track and use it to trigger the samples 😂
@spinlightstudios52 минут бұрын
Yeah, it just easier imo to duplicate the snare track and apply trigger - unless you want to use the bleed suppression option.
