You actually wanted to connect the smaller fuel line to the filter, feed it up through the smaller tank hole and then connect it to the top intake line of the carb. The primer bulb uses the larger bore lines, pulling fuel through the carb and returning it to the tank. The larger bore lines make it easier/faster to prime. The smaller line fuels the engine when it's running.
@acet74 жыл бұрын
good to know, its still running. Thanks for watching

Does the larger fuel line from the primer being returned to the tank need a filter in the tank?
@thejonegcle77593 жыл бұрын
have identical saw. replaced fuel lines (2 different sizes small-primer, large to fuel tank) after watching your video ... started & ran fine !! cut through pile of wood on 1 tank. used picture frame wire to pull hose/tubing through saw pre-drilled holes. helped immensely. make sure to clean out any broken/cracked old fuel line.

these saws are notorious for leaking oil, aside from that they are great saws....for that reason i make it a habit of only putting in as much bar oil as i need for how much wood im cutting.. if im gonna store for a long time, pour the bar oil back out of the saw into the oil container

I agree ☝️ on leaking but I clean my saws every night after I use them and I set on side with fill caps up Don’t leak then I had a saw just like this with a 16 inch bar I think, it was never left setting with out being clean 😊

You have a guide plate missing is why it leaks oil

you want it drip. that means the bar oiler is working properly. some models have a bar oiler adjustment but I would leave it alone, you know it getting adequate oil.
@acet74 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I didn't know that. I thought it was only supposed to drip when it was running. I guess I will just have to drain it each time as it gets the saw case all messy inside. Thanks for watching!
@thor68372rockon3 жыл бұрын
The oil leaking is probably the oil hose or the rubber connection from your oil pump, which is behind your chain clutch, to the oiling chamber connection which is usually a plastic nipple. Once you remove the chain bar, there is a tin plate, beneath that is where the leak is occurring, if that tin plate is not on there properly they will leak also. You will see once you remove that tin plate, don't bend that plate either, it will leak, that could be the problem now, hope this helped ya out.

Hello, very nice job! I have three Craftsman chain saws and they all leak the Bar/Chain Oil if too much is left in the tank upon completion of the task at hand. I thought it was normal that it does that? I agree with Da Mar Po, Let it be.

Carb cleaner is stronger than brake cleaner. Funny how craftsman could have spent another 2 cents for higher quality fuel lines so this didn't happen. I just went through a 40+ yo echo made in japan with the original fuel lines that are perfect. If you read the label on this saw it indicates that the useful life is only 50 hours.
