Born and raised in Bridgeport and in my opinion, Seaside Park is the most beautiful beach and the largest in Connecticut. Thanks for sharing this great video

It doesn't look like I remembered it in the 60s. I went swimming there. I would ride down to the beach many nights on my motorcycle with my wife and watch the sun go down. About the same time, they banned motorcycles and the park started to look like a city dump. But it certainly looks clean, now. And the leaves are not on the trees. One thing I do still remember was Barnum's niece (curator of the Barnum museum getting murdered) She lived just a few houses away on Brooklawn avenue. Little park next to her home where my kids would play. Bridgeport was great when industry was going strong.

I remember going to the softball games your dad played in or waiting for the midway to come to town or waiting for the tide to go down so we could walk out on the rocks to the end and fish and watch the long Island ferry ⛴ go by

I remember going to the circus there in the 50's. There was a place there too for concerts in the 60's. Saw Ray Charles perform there. We also used to go there and park, and make out! LOL! Had some fun back then! Have lived in San Francisco for the past 52 years. Took a roadtrip to Connecticut last October. Looked so different. Hardly recognized Bridgeport. Born and raised there till I was 22.

Thank you for this. I remember many times I spent at Seaside park. and I recognized the statue of Elias Howe but I forgot what he did for the State and for America. Thanks so much for these nostalgic tours.

Seaside is also the area where Union troops from around New England would muster before boarding the trains to go off and fight the Confederacy.
