It's an ordinary, peaceful market day in Lyngarth when 17-year-old Ren (Outlander's Sophie Skelton) bumps into a troop of soldiers searching for a pair of mysterious fugitives.
Ren: The Girl with the Mark is an independent fantasy action series directed by Kate Madison (Born of Hope). This is Episode 1 of 5.
Our series is the tale of a young woman who, after a strange encounter in the woods, is marked by an ancient spirit. Cast out from her small village, she is forced to leave behind the family she has spent her whole life protecting and journey across the land to find the real meaning behind the mark she bears.

AHHHHHHH this was amazing!!! Such an exciting first episode :) I love Ren's character development already...She stands out as a free thinker, unaware that her differences shall soon become illuminated...I can see that she is carefree but she soon will be faced with challenges that will cause her to question all that she has known. Can't wait to see how this unfolds, how she becomes a Marked One and what that entails. Eeeeee!!!! Also, the filming locations were absolutely stunning, stellar camera work, and just gorgeous visuals. Okay I'll stop now. #rentheseries #fangirling #amazing

All those months of post production certainly paid off if Episode 1 is anything to go by, and to think that all this was accomplished with a miniscule budget and the good will and hard work of scores of volunteers. Belting visuals, music and direction in something that wouldn't look out of place in the BBC Saturday night slot vacated by Robin Hood and Atlantis. Congratulations to all concerned.

Visually it is pretty impressive. The sets are wonderful for the budget, and you can see all of the hardwork. The view from the sky of the town was as good, but wish we saw more of the world from above. The sound in the first few minutes felt a bit off, possible ADR not fully mixed, but for rest of episode was unnoticeable. The script was quite intriguing from the outset, and my main criticism is that the episode wasn't long enough! But that is a good thing, haha. I even tried to click the 'next episode' annotation in hope already secretly up. Amazing work for what everybody had, and will be sharing this in hope it becomes a hit and brings possibilities to all involved.

I think that this was really well done! So many details, and I noticed that names were written in a unique language almost like runes. That was something that really interested me, also, I read the creation story and background and it was interesting and really well written. good job too :) I really enjoyed this episode and everything about it and all of the hard work and passion put in. I saw a Fjord Horse on a BTS video and I was wondering if Ren would ride it or not. She strikes me as an avid archer and thats why I thought she was called The girl with the mark ( not sure if that was said in the show or not) .When I read the creation story however I found out why :) I was curious and interested to know if Karn would teach her more about using the bow or not. I would ask if there was going to be more on the lore and mythos and if I could contribute somehow but I am unsure how to word it at the moment. Again really well done and have a good day! ~Teal ( PS Wales is beautiful, I especially enjoyed the cinematography *the shot of the valley and mountain ranges* )
