I am a minimalist and prefer the sling to a belt these days. I am currently using the Madre sling from coastal fishing gear. It has everything I need, on it. D rings for boga, rod holder tube in the front and plier sheath. All the product you mentioned are also high quality gear. I am also wearing Barts Bay Armor boots now, because stingrays are no joke.

Been inshore fishing for many years but just getting into wade fishing. This series and watching the Kwiggler videos and seeing how they setup their gear has been very helpful.

Less is more when wading. Everyone owes it to themselves to buy the Bart's Bay Armor boots. Been wading the Laguna Madre since I was 5 and I can tell you they are the most comfy stingray boots of all time.

Great video Chris. We played against each other in high school, and you probably don’t remember, but you were gracious enough to spend about 45 mins with me on the phone at the very beginning of Covid when I was down in Corpus for work at the time. I’ll never forget that conversation we had. I don’t have Facebook, so I assume that is where I could find this info, but where can I get one of those hats you have in the background of the video? As far as what kind of content to make and more to the KWigglers line of products, I fish West Galveston bay mostly. When is the right time(time of year, water temp, depth, contour, clarity, other conditions) to fish a ball tail, paddle tail, willow tail, color pattern, maybe profile, etc.?

I’ve never wade fished before. Consider myself a avid trout angler in louisiana. The idea of leaving a boat to get in the water is intimidating. Im a Pontchartrain basin angler who owns a boat and enjoy fishing east biloxi marsh area. I feel like wading is this tradition passed on between friends and family and that’s the only way to learn. Is there some media/reading material to help a complete first timer get started?

I'm predominantly a kayak fisherman but am getting into wading. I wade fish from shore, not a boat. I use the same hookset belt and agree with what you said about the plier sheath and d rings. I also use an inexpensive Magellan pro wade fishing sling bag to hold a small (3400 I think) Plano waterproof box, a couple bags of soft plastics, scent, my keys, phone, and a small glass cleaning cloth. I would like to minimize. I could use just the wading sling amd no belt but I like using the belt. I could use just the belt with the attached tackle pouch, but what are folks doing to keep keys and phone dry and safe? Additionally, when measuring the fish, what are people using? My main wade rod (Laguna Trident, awesome rod) has marks but thats difficult to use depending on depth and conditions. Take a tape measure? I've though of attaching my yak gear floating foldable board to my belt but that's just more bulk. Any suggestion or input is welcomed. Thank you.

I took a white paint marker from hoo by lobby and marked the foam on my hookset bag. For my keys I just leave them in my skiff and for my phone I normally wade with a shirt that has pockets so I just keep it there.

I probably should but don’t use Ray protection. May want to consider the Barts Bay Armour boots. I’ve heard there incredibly comfortable and offer top notch protection
