Nicely done ! I fished there as a kid, 35+ yrs ago, but havent been back since 2006. For those who havent, this is a VERY dangerous location to fish. Many people have lost their lives there over the years. We've caught 6+ foot sharks on that same point. So please, if you wade, dont go past your knees and wear a PFD. That current RIPS through there at times.

Last year was the 1st time on 30 years i was not able to walk across that gut. Once passed it, then a 15 minute walk str8t out...there is, " the boat cut." Basically where the its deep enough for the boats. I have fished ONLY here for 30 years. Legendary action out there. BUT...that 1st gut IS DANGEROUS. Especially at peak tides folks!! Have had some pucker up moments. If u cant swin..DO NOT venture out too far. I wnt even take my kids their. Great vid!

That gut sneaks up on you. It goes from 1'-3' to 4'-7' right there. Really steep dropoff. I've logged it with sonar and I bet some have fallen off the ledge and got in trouble. Good video. Be careful out there. The dropoff and current can make it a bad day.

That is a good place ! Fished there beginning 40 years ago. Great wadding, many trout and reds. East side of Sea Isle was a good place too. Caught a 180 lb there in December. 1995. LOL. Found a floater. YUCK Not a good day. Also you should try the Bolivar Pocket.

Caught a lot of good fish in that area! There's another gut about 150 yds straight out from where you were that holds good fish also. Be very careful around there though, current is bad.

I wouldn't tell people to wade San Luis Pass, it's dangerous. A lot of people died there, they posted signs to not get into the water.

@@RXAngler Did you use a beach access road or go in directly under the bridge? I went there at night a while back, tried to get there under the bridge, but there were some giant holes that were full of water. Wasn't sure how deep they were. Went part of the way, but it looked worse and worse. It was during the week, so I was there by myself. I turned around and crossed the bridge and went on to the Matagorda side.
