I feel like I should be able to play Graves well, but he just doesnt click for me. I would really love a "from the ground up" guide on the champ with a heavier focus on the mechanics, pathing, how to kite mobs, make the most of his autos, etc. Most guides gloss over that stuff and focus on builds and stuff...but builds are the easy part.

Graves has a shitton of items, I dont think itemization really is that simple on the champion. I have a vid uploaded on graves "unlocked animations" combos which I think are the most crucial to learn graves combos out there, they really puts the slippery into this champ. This graves player was also constantly using them in this video. Mostly na graves' (tarzaned, afreezy etc and literally everyone playing him in worlds) on the other hand dont use them, I still highly recommend them.

Graves got me to gold for the first time this season. Fully agree about his strengths and how busted he can be. For me managing to get that flow just feels mad satisfying even if it isnt the most exciting

Man, people are sleeping on blue pet Once you start using it and you notice how broken ms is one any champion Next best option is green pet Tenacity and shield is amazing Red pet is ok for lower elos but above d3 you need blue and green

Graves statistically dogshit below challenger, every patch in every region. If they make him more balanced in challenger he would be unplayable in every rank below.

Nidalee and (to a lesser extent) kindred and Lee Sin are also much much weaker outside of the top of the ladder, and for the most part should not be played by people below high diamond in ranked. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, just like how there’s nothing wrong with a champ like Annie being strong in low elo and weak in high elo.
