It's been explained Geto's ability is Cursed Spirit manipulation, that's why during the movie he could control all those cursed spirits and uses them when he fights, that's just his innate ability he was born with.

It's interesting how Geto thinks being strong is about protecting those who are weaker. Whereas Gojo thinks only the strong really matter and they shouldn't think about weaklings. Their perspectives are basically flipped from where they are in JJK 0

Basic info to know: The first part of this season is a flashback to 2006 when Gojo, Geto, and Shoko were the same year at Jujutsu High and good friends. This arc shows development for a lot of characters. Shoko is the doctor that was gonna dissect Yuji when he died in season 1. Geto using curses is his technique, cursed manipulation, they explain it again next ep. Something to take note of from this first ep is that Getos’ morals are completely opposite from the movie, he wants to protect the weak and believes sorcerers are meant to protect non-sorcerers. Also, you were right about the first 2 girls about the beginning, those are indeed the characters you thought. This arc is short, so you’ll see Yuji soon! Lots of emotions coming!

Getou absorbing and using curses isnt baad because thats his technique, and the curses are under his control. It not against any rules until he uses them to attack humans or his allies. Its not something he chose to have he was born with it.

We are okay with Geto using curses to fight for the same reason we are okay with Yuji using Sukuna, the King of Curses, to fight. That's just their quirk.

Geto is using his curse technique so it's okay that he has those cursed spirits. Remember Megumi told kyoto school guy his dad took his mom's last name which is why his last name is Fushiguro. White hair lady is front braid lady from the movie. Principle isn't the principle yet he's just their instructor, however he is inline to become principle during this time. This is when Gojo and Geto were best friends like how he mentioned in the movie.

Don't worry about getting everything on the first watch. Just rewatch episodes that confused you in your own time. JJK is one of the more technical shows out there considering how in depth the power system is. Gojo's power alone is hella complicated.
