I really think people haven't understood the purpose of the Flail. Many say: Flail healing sucks. Yes they are right, we are not going to replace the Staff. But the goal here, like a Void, is to provide buff/debuff. We heal with the Staff, we switch with the Flail to provide support and annoy the group in front, to return to the Staff. A rapier won't heal you either ^^ I don't think they wanted to release a pure healing weapon like the Staff.

Quick question. Im wearing all medium like you said so my Equip Load is MEDIUM with the Pants Artifact so I have no clue how you got your Equip Load down to 12.6 LIGHT. Any tips?

It doesn't offer anything valuable to a healer build in light armor - and it makes you more squishy. The shield Flail passives aren't that great for healers. You could definitely run a shield in medium armor - which I have a build guide coming out for soon!

Thoughts on the med build w/ a Kite shield instead of light? Slightly less heal output, but holy crap is it tank. 200 CON, 392 FOC, 50 STR. Using Attuned Leather Pants for large magnify and +48 food (foc or con)

Can i ask why the life staff from the first part changed to the one you had at the end? Was there a reason for this? Or is Sacred ground + Orb + Beacon , Just not as good as Divine Embrace + Sacred ground + Beacon?

As for PVE healing, what build would you run with the flail or would that same PVP ability selection work for ya? And if you doubled Odo for a tank spec, would you put a gem slot in, instead of blessed?

Yes, definitely run a gem slot for tanking! For PVE healing I would run Vortex, Smite, and either Trip or Bludgeon.

The overall goal is to be 700 GS, but you want to have BIS. Every 3 days you can get a BIS. Make sure you're buying chromatic seals from the faction vendor!

@@baboonbanana99 Plus heavy armor. I remember being invincible in OPR and Wars 🥲 best support build IMO. Could heal and stun clumps while in the mosh rather than sit back with your LS and play cookie clicker.

So I’m new to the game, I started playing a few weeks before the expansion. I had to make a new character because my server got flooded with streamers and I couldn’t play. I went with LS/Flail on the new server. I’m still only like level 40, doing the MSQ. I’m a solo player for now, I’m running vortex/trip/whip shot and on staff I’m running the first lifestaff you showed, idk the names but the orb you shoot out, the beacon, and the one with the long cooldown that sticks to people. I’m running full light with a round shield. I was going to get featherweight and run a tower shield. Do you think that would be fine for now for solo play? Or drop the shield and get a few med pieces of armor?

I would definitely continue running the Orb of Protection, Beacon, and Sacred Ground build on your Life Staff! In the description is the best armor weight to wear with a round shield in light armor using Featherweight. I would recommend wearing light armor while soloing and swapping Trip to Arcane Smite for more AOE dps and CDR! The other abilities are great

I enjoy running trip because when I’m fighting mobs and it gets too much, I can trip one or two to give me a break and focus on the others, usually I’ll trip and whip, but if I’m like half hp or the enemies I tripped have shields I go right into vortex and get 1/4 of my life back. It’s also great when I run expeditions and my tank has a lot of aggro I run in and trip hit vortex and give his Stam a break

You could definitely play it but it comes with significant downsides. Your outgoing healing will get reduced by 30%

This build is mostly focused for PVP! If you want a leveling build I'd probably run Arcane Eruption, Arcane Vortex, and Arcane Smite. All 3 of them have decent single target and AOE!

I saw you were suggesting a weapon perk for Divine Embrace but when you pulled up your build, you run the same build I do. Orb instead. What perk do you recommend for when you don't use Divine Embrace? I'm trying to figure out an arena setup.

What part in the video were you referring to? Also I recommend all arena healers to use Divine Embrace and Sacred, and then choose a 3rd ability from there. DE and Sacred are always mandatory. DE perk on Life Staff!

Niche at best. I don't think there's much use of it this patch with it having that below 50% HP conditional. Blessed gives only 8% less healing output but it works for all abilities at all times! New video discussing new healing perks coming out soon!

VG and Rapier will still be meta for outputing max heals and survivability. Flail puts you in such a vulnerable spot for the little healing it provides. Flail is much better in small scale pvp playing with teammates. It has too much duo/trio synergy!

Nope! You can only upgrade the purple named items and artifacts at the Gypsum Kiln.

It's still a fun solo build, but works better in groups! Flail doesn't have much solo play potential anyway unfortunately :( most of the passives gain benefit when used near another ally

Healing takes a -30% decrease when using heavy armor. Not viable, but definitely fits the class identity the most!

No shield with this build, shields don't offer anything valuable for a healer. It's better to use our stamina for dodges!

I’m new to healing cause the flail makes it so much more fun to be a battle cleric. When do you want to use divine embrace over orb of protection?

@@LibertyOrDeath87 Yes, you can absorb more hits with a shield but it puts you in a vulnerable spot. The best play style I've found so far is keeping my distance and tossing my heals then using Flail CDs/autos when necessary. I rarely ever block if i am in danger - its better used to block burst damage quickly and then start moving away which you can do without a shield. Getting good at evading with dodges will make you a better player in the long run for surviving 1vX scenarios compared to holding block. Also wearing a shield lowers the amount of physical/elemental armor you have unless you wear Featherweight. TLDR: Shielding puts you in a bad spot to survive, makes you squisher, and offers no real benefit other than class identity.

Hello newbie here, i really like the healer role on new world. But im still confused which one is better for the 2nd weapon flail or Vg. I mean the flail got mobility but im not sure if that’s enough for me to consider using flail.

Rapier is by far the best weapon for surviving in PvP as it has the most mobility. I would start off by getting good with the Rapier before playing with Flail or VG. Flail and VG are utility weapons that have abilities that need to be timed properly to combo with your team. If you're considering which weapon to use you should decide what playstyle you want to takeover, first!

This is a different playstyle for those "battle healers" who want to help their team do damage and CC. You can still play traditional healer with rapier though!

I do about 800-1.2k damage a hit depending on who I am hitting. Yes, this is not a 1v1 build - this is a utility build that is used in group play. Flail sucks solo!

Great video! Any idea if purifying breeze works on multiple targets or if there is a CD? Would be crazy if you can proc it on a clump using the heavy attack cleanse perk.
