This was my wife and I, too. I had heard of One Piece but I’m not a huge anime head. Like a couple but that’s really it. But when we saw it on the Netflix Home Screen we decided to check it out, figured it could be fun. Well, now we’re on ep. 335 or so in the anime and loving every minute of it. Cant wait for more live action.

Tbh, I was one of the OP fans who criticized this live action. I don't have plans of watching the live action but I was shocked when I saw my father and brother that are non OP fans watching the live action. So I tried to watch atleast the first episode and man I was blown away how it turned out and I'm also happy that OP gained a new fans. I still can't believe that I'm seeing this moment where the general public enjoying One Piece live action and its still the second most watched series globally even disney plus's Ashoka couldn't keep up. All in all OPLA break the anime live action adaptation curse and can't wait for season 2 since Oda himself already announced it that OPLA got renewed 2 weeks after its released, One of the fastest season 2 renewal on Netflix everrr. 🎉 Also Matt owens was interviewed i think that was Friday the producer of OPLA and he mentioned that they will not skip Loguetown you can check the interview on One Piece live action official twitter account.

At nothing, I went in completely blind and watching it for the first time in my life and was in love. And I'm excited to see season 2. If the next season is 8 episodes, it'll probably be: ep1: Logue Town ep2: Reverse Mountain ep3: Little Garden ep 4, 5: Drum Island ep 6, 7, 8: Alabasta I don't think we'll have a full Whiskey Peak arc, they'll probably mix elements of it into others to introduce Vivi.

Hachi is there. He was who Nami played cards against. It's in the credits but they may have just shoehorned a name in their to establish they didn't forget he's important. I had a friend I watched it with over discord and she was surprised how much she liked it after hearing me rant about the manga and anime nonstop and rolling her eyes at me. I think Season 2, Episode 1, is going to open with them at Loguetown (we need good Smoker content), and Episode 2 covering Whiskey Peak. Episodes 3 (& maybe 4) being Drum Island. I think they’ll skip or condence a crap ton of content to focus the entire back half on Alabasta. There's a lot to cover in that arc alone that can't afford to be made into just 2 episodes. Chopper, Ace, Vivi, Crocodile, and Robin are all important character introductions that need justice to be done. I think season 2 will end with them sailing away from Alabasta. I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

Yeah I think that’s a fair assessment, more than likely will be 10 episodes IMO so we may get further , but I think if it’s 8, atleast 3-4 are Alabasta events centric with the finale being leaving Alabasta. There’s just a lot of lore to setup there and I think it will serve them well to spend some decent time there. Saying bye to viví again is gunna be too sad for me. 🩵🏴‍☠️

I’ve always been a big manga reader and always stayed away from One Piece but the live action and your reactions as long time fans convinced me to start! The showrunner has said that Loguetown will be the first episode of season 2, which makes sense, as for pacing, even though it takes place in East Blue, it fits more with the following arc as a jumping off point.

Ive been following one piece when the anime was just about to hit its time-skip phase. Watched the movies 10+ times all over, countless times on the anime. Internally I wasn’t really satisfied with many scenes. They weren’t hitting as heavy since one piece revolves around a ton of dialogue and VERY detailed emotional impacts such as facial expressions. No Zoro vs hachi, no zoro being held up when arlong saw zoro‘s scar etc. But however, i‘m proud of the team. I’ve worked hard on telling my friends that this show is going to rock live-action into a new era and it did.!

First, they have to squeeze in 45 episodes of anime into 8 episodes in Live action so it will be hard to put out every detail and scenes. But the fact that they changed the scenes without getting rid of the actual plot and feels is a big plus. And there's nothing to look forward to if they are just going to copy the exact scenes in anime or manga. just rewatch the anime instead 🤣 lastly.. they made their reaction, feelings, emotions, expressions and actions very realistic..very human..you rarely see a very lost or angry luffy in anime but they showed it here. And they changed the obsessed with girls with over exaggerated expression of sanji i to chivalry and very smooth talker sanji. And copying the reactions in anime will be very cringe in real life..only anime can pull off those weird expressions

Awesome reaction! My favourite parts overall were Buggy's devil fruit reveal/fight (it looked so real?!), and the reactions to Luffy's first bounty (and Shanks laughing at his own arm joke lol). So heartwarming. My favourite live-action-only scenes were Kaya and Nami bonding, and Garp eating with Zeff. This adaptation made me get into the manga and the anime! Currently at Whiskey Peak. I'm so glad there's more story to dive into while I wait for season 2 of the live action.

@@brosnshows I like the manga's pacing; the anime's pacing is driving me nuts lol. I just got to the part where Zoro mentions that he was once recruited by Baroque Works - Zoro's live action intro! So cool how they turned a "mention" into a whole scene. It's funny, I actually watched One Piece on TV as a kid but Luffy's rubber power scared me and the story went over my head. I'm glad I got into the story now because I'm in a similar phase in life where I'm finally able to chase after my own dreams. I feel so inspired!

I'm not a fan of One Piece, and never watch the anime. But this live action really is one of the best than any other live action out there. I got a question tho for you guys who are a fans, and these questions been on my mind ever since I've watch this live action series, does Gold Roger really dead? He is still laughing after that polearms stabbing him. And I don't think it was that easy to "end" him, since he is The King Of Pirates, and seen all these powerfull pirates that are not a even a king, Roger should be like more overpower than any of them. Right? Is he still alive in the anime or manga? Is one piece really is just a lie so that pirates fight with each other? Like Garp said in the beginning, Gold Roger is a conspiracies. Have anyone had this theories before? lol So many questions. Anyway, great live actions so far! Can't wait for seasons two!

I love the curiosity! Yes unfortunately Roger is really dead. You’ll learn more about him as the show continues, but essentially he turned himself in because he knew how much time he had left. He was a man who valued FREEDOM above all else. The world is not as black and white as it seems. I’m sure you understand after seeing Luffy and his crew. Are all pirates bad? No. Are all marines good? No. History is decided by the victor.. Roger made sure to keep hope alive for the next generation of pirates in the hope that someone would pick up the mantle and finish what he couldn’t…

Yeah I think they shouldn’t have cut it quite as short, missed the bite and a lot of other moments they could have done but that being said I think we’re not going to see the long drawn out fights like the anime, they’re not going to spend an entire episode budget on one fight until later in the show, I think the pacing was good but to your point this should have been a bigger deal. No struggle in this fight on Luffys part and that’s a bummer

@@brosnshows I initially had my criticisms about the Arlong fight in this episode, but it makes a little more sense that Luffy didn't struggle as much here as he did in the anime/manga. Like Luffy said, this was round two. Round One was at Baratie, and Luffy got his entire shit rocked there. Arlong was even going in for a definite kill shot when Nami stopped him. At Arlong Park, Luffy was a little more prepared for just how strong Arlong is, so he fought smarter, not just harder. I think it would have been improved if a lot of the dialog between Luffy and Arlong was moved to during the fight, with Luffy telling Nami to run sooner, with some kind of comment about how the Shark Saw is unbreakable or something. It would have made Arlong more menacing, and made Luffy's crushing of the sword that much more impactful during the "Used" scene.

A thousand dollars says they will _never_ give us "new Alvida." I think not even if Oda insisted would they do that. Like it or not, the people in charge of this adaptation are super on board with making the casting fit certain quotas, and part of the baggage of that agenda is that they won't "upgrade" an overweight character. A thousand dollars. She's going to be the same Alvida we got in season 1.
