Season One - Episode 4 - Dr. Robert Schleip, PhD

In 1998 I began researching fascia to understand its direct role in pain and aging. One of my mentors who helped me along the way in doing research for the MELT Method was Dr. Thomas Findley. He connected me to Robert Schleip and his tremendous body of work. Robert spent hours with me in my studio chatting and helping me refine my understanding of fascia during the years where I was developing the method.
Robert Schleip is a human biologist and psychologist. His area of expertise is fascia research. Schleip was co-initiator of the first International Fascia Congress 2007 with the late Dr. Thomas Findley, at the Harvard Medical School in Boston (1st Fascia Research Congress), which marked the breakthrough for modern fascia research, as well as the subsequent congresses.
Both Robert and Tom transformed how we view fascia and have been true pioneers in the field, educating, sharing, and expanding the understanding of fascia from movement practice to surgical treatments. I am proud to be a founding member of the Fascia Research Society and am forever grateful to Robert's body of work which has transformed how I view aging and longevity.
