I love your finds, especially the linen box. It's nice to see someone who loves photos that would otherwise be thrown. I don't understand families that throw them away. It's their history. Thanks for sharing x

When my dad was overseas at the end of the war, he had my mom's name on his jeep. The Martha Mae! I have a picture of it somewhere. I thought that was really something!! Always enjoy the videos. I must have missed this one since it is January 2020!! I love anything WWII, cause I was born in 1944! I just love that period of history.

I found linen and embroidered items in my grandpas attic when our family moved to his cherry and apple farm, in Paw Paw Michigan. It was 1970, I was beginning high school and I went on to two degrees at The University of Michigan. It amuses me and at the same time terrifies me that I'm where my grandpa oas was now. Thanks for this channel!!

I buy and sell a lot of hard goods. Love the hunt of flea markets, garage and estate sales. Learned about your channel from Taco Stacks. This weekend I purchased my first ephemera. A box of old post card/letters/holiday cards and an album filled with pictures from a farm family...I believe the pictures range from 1910s through the 1950s. I love the stories these pictures tell and the box of material is from the same family. Had fun sitting down with the kids and exploring the items Enjoying your channel and it is extremely relaxing to listen to...lol. Keep up the good work and thank you for the videos.

Always enjoy finding treasures...most of my stuff comes from estate sales, "junk" stores and "thrift shops, although vintage things around here [San Francisco] are getting harder to find. Ikea and Potty Barn are taking over. Sure glad I started my collections back in the 1960's! Keep up the good work...nice to see a young lady with your vintage interests. Women like you are rare in the big city...if it does not beep, show instant info. or play games [video, that is] they have no interest. One lady I invited over to my home reacted with... "why do you keep so much old stuff around?" Needless to say she was never invited back again! My collections are neat, organized and in their place...not in hoarder style. All are part of our historical heritage!

Very interesting! I work in the regulatory sector that manages pesticides in my state. I'm curious what the active ingredients are in those pesticides. The dust could be DDT? The very famous insecticide that was the inspiration to Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. Definitely be careful with those, just in case. They may be technically illegal to sell/own and probably definitely illegal to "apply". Maybe would be okay to dump in the trash. Anyway, all that said, I probably would have definitely bought them. They are super cool!

An archivist of sorts, I guess you could say. My full time job is in records management, but my background is in history & WWII studies. I have and currently do volunteer at historic sites where I perform historic research and help to organize collections.

Great paper finds wow I am new to this genre. So fun!! I cant wait to find that stuff. Its good to know there are sellers there who dont sift thru everything & who dont sell online. So far all the antique malls here rarely have paper & if so is very $$$
@PaperandMoose5 жыл бұрын
Once you frequent a flea market, you realize where the sellers get their inventory from and learn what they specialize in & what they look through/don't look through. Antique malls are hard to find good deals at, but sometimes you come across decent prices!

Such cool stuff you find. I like that you are preserving someone’s memories...sad that they didn’t. I love old tins and advertising. The embroidery is nice, too, and you could actually use it. I’m currently trying to decide how to preserve the embroidery and crochet that has been passed down through my family. I have sons and they could care less about it. Some good instructions on how to care for it...using Ivory soap. You don’t ever actually wash (as in washing machine), old needlework. I put mine in a large dish pan with some OxyClean and gently move the piece around and mostly just let it sit and soak. Rinse gently, but thoroughly. Let it lie flat on a towel and air dry. I have done this for years with good success. Good luck with your research. I enjoy the videos when you come back and share the history of your finds. 😊👍🏻
