im travelling over to Central America for 6 weeks with my friends from Ireland, other than the rain we were concerned the hostels would be empty as its not peak season. Is there still plenty of tourists even during June / July?. Thanks again for the great video!!!

Thanks for the excellent explanation! I'm from the Netherlands, so pretty accustomed to rain, but of course it's not what you want when out hiking on some volcano :) We'll be going in July for just two weeks (3 days ometepe, 5 days granada area, 6 days corn islands). Very valuable information to know that the rain is mostly of short duration and occurs later in the day. Then we'll make sure to get up earlier and for nature hikes, make sure to always have a guide. Thanks!

Ooh, I love storms, too. I grew up in an old farm house on Puget Sound. Our neighbors had a concrete bulkhead that held in an old tree stump - complete with big old roots. When a storm come in I'd go climb on that tree stump and pretend I was captain of the Seaview (having grown up watching Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea).Can't wait to experience a good storm in Central America!

I love the storms here. Although honestly I like them in Panama more, something about the way that you have that wide open plain after the storms fall from the mountains. But they are pretty incredible here, too.

We are ready for some rain, and hoping in a few weeks the temps start dropping. Looking on accuweather and others, looks like by sometime in June the highs drop from 87-90 to 80-81. That will put a smile on our faces ! But yes, we love a good rain. We are house hunting, which is challenging….

Hi Scott! I’m currently planning my trip to Nicaragua and Panama and I’m really concerned about the weather in mid October throughout the end as I have only two weeks and obviously I would love to see some sun as I’m also planning of going to Corn Island. Just trying to be realistic about the weather 😅. Would I still catch some sun?

Some sun, for sure. The sun is out right now, for example. But the sun will be limited for sure. This is the rainiest of the rainy season. But even now, it's rare to go more than a few days without some periods of sunshine.

I don't know how the rain is on the islands. The weather on that side is wholly different than the Pacific coast. East of the mountains doesn't have the mountains creating the pattern that we see here.

It has rain, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You must be coming SOON because July is well along already. A lot of us prefer the rainy season. It's more interesting. But it makes coordinating things a little more challenging, that's all.
