I've been using these for a couple of years and haven't used my traditional roof mounted racks since. Little tip - fit the front mount as normal to the car then fit the rear mount to the wheel of the bike when its on the ground. Fit the bike onto the front mount on the car then place the rear mount onto the car by letting the bike down onto it. That way the rear mount is always perfectly positioned because if you don't you might have to keep adjusting it for distance away from the front mount in order to align with the rear wheel perfectly.

From what I heard an easier way to mount it is put the fork in the mount on the ground, then lift the bike on the car then do the rear one.

This is the Best.. I drove in the most windy par of Cali. The SeaSucker stood up to the test for the 2.5 hours it is durable and very safe. I recommend that if you purchase one to buy a security cable to prevent theft or accidents while driving.

Picked one up today so I could carry my bike on my mini. I saw it advertised at a local store for $150 off and I had been looking for a way to carry my bike on my mini without having to get major modifications completed on my car. Before I went and bought it I checked KZbin to see reviews and this is the first one that popped up. Watched your video last night and decided I would go and pick one up today before the sale is over. Funny thing, I hadn't read the reviews earlier before I attached it to my car. I did take a wet and dry rag out to wipe down the roof area and I also did what someone else mentioned and attached the bike on the ground to the Talon then lifted everything up onto my car as I wasn't sure exactly where I would need to attach everything. I now know where to put the front part and I will just attach the back on the ground before lifting the bike onto the front section on the roof, allows me to line up the bike front to back a little before actually engaging the suction on the back mount.
@GravelCyclist8 ай бұрын
Nice one. Once you figure out where to place the front part of the rack, and the rear wheel support suction cup, it is super easy. My Talon still performs flawless, and does duty from time to time on my vintage Corvette.

Good Review. Thanks... I have one already and I love it... Great video to show to friends who may be interested but don't understand it... A couple of suggestions: 1) The orientation of the mounting bracket should be such that it's leaning towards the back of the car to reduce wind resistance, and to avoid exerting an upward force on the suction/vacuum cups... The way you have the bracket mounted in the video is meant for the Talon to sit with the single cup in the front... such as when mounting a portion of it on the windshield. Not a big deal though... 2) There is a new version of Talon Available that allows you to use only one Mounting Bracket, with various adapters that can be inserted into the axle hole to allow it to fit different (9mm, 12mm 15mm diameter) axles..,

Interesting product. I currently use a truck mounted bike rack and have been debating making the upgrade to a roof or hitch rack, both of which come at a cost (i.e. Loss of fuel efficiency, cost of installation, etc). I prefer the trunk mount bike rack because of its ease of use, however, it does scratch my vehicle. I’m sure others will agree that entrusting your several thousand dollar possession as well as the safety of other motorists to a few suction cups is somewhat disconcerting. I’ll definitely be keeping this product on my radar. Thanks for sharing.
@Tchairdjian6 жыл бұрын
No worries mate.... these suction cups can handle 220lb each... the bike is not going anywhere... I've had mine now for 2 years... I used to worry so much and always kept an eye out my sunroof to check up on it... but now I don't even think about it. BTW, I wouldn't recommend to anyone to keep their SeaSucker rack on the car roof full time. It takes only a couple of minutes to install and un-install it... someone may steal it... or keep the rubber constantly exposed to the elements/UV etc... If you're going on a long trip, just bring the bike indoors, and/or make sure the pump is fully in -- i.e. no orange section shows....

I had to return the 2 bike setup as it is too stiff and was deforming my roof big time due to the curvaceous lines on the F-Type. Be careful if you don’t have a glass roof like mine, mine is thin aluminum and the rack was too stiff to conform to the rounded roof.

I cannot believe is legal, to drive high speed over high way and pray to God would not loose bike and kill someone. At some point rubber is no longer good. I am amazed if this is reliable. Not having experience with this, look practical but not in million years i would have courage to trust life with this.

Nobody was driving over the speed limit in this video, which at maximum, was 65mph (just over 100km/hr) during one segment of the video. You can buy replacement suction pieces, this product is very well proven. Trusting life? You're trusting it to carry a bike.
