Here is a quick demonstration on how to change the dead / weak / dying battery in your SEAT key fob. You need a small flat blade screw driver and your fresh 2032 battery.

Excellent guide, thank you man. Just one tip: have all tools ready at hand, especially the replacement battery, and once you separate the two halves you must work quickly (under 1 minute) to remove the old one, put the old one in and snap everything back together, otherwise there's a risk of the key becoming unpaired with your car.

Very helpful video! I just run into it! But unfortunately not the key battery was the issue. So bois if the key gives you the red light, then you have to replace the main battery.. Good luck!

My Ibiza 6k2 key was a bit different, as the piece that holds the battery is on the other side, and that for some reason the battery needs to be put in upside down unless it wouldn't work.

Another tip: you really want to use the more expensive watch/jewelry store grade of battery for this. Why? Because if you use the cheap IKEA/LIDL multipack variety, it will work but only for a few months, as opposed to years.

You need 2 bateries 3V CR2012 or CR2016 to this key. 2x3V = 6V. One batery CR2032 has only 3V. Wont work. EU version

Hi, so my key remote key stopped working a few days ago. I have since replaced the battery and ever since my car locks and unlocks very sporadically. The signal works as indicated by the red light coming on, I’m struggling with troubleshooting this. Anyone have any suggestions? I tried resynchronizing my keys but that unfortunately did not work. Make sure the arm that presses on the battery really do that, you might have to bend it to make sure it presses down on the battery. It happened to me and when i did so it started blinking again
