The farm at the end has a campsite and a pizza cabin to supply anybody who can't be bothered to cook or drive to Keswick. Check it out on FB.

I've driven down there, but great to see it from the air. Does the slate mine owner up the road still fly his helicopter like a lune?

Not since he crashed and died in 2011.

@@StevieProton Oh, LOL. Shame for his family, but having watched him land it at the mine, I'm not entirely surprised!

@@theboy-uk Flying a dodgy helicopter in poor weather in the dark when you aren't qualified to fly at night won't have helped. Still a shame, he had some futuristic ideas to develop the site.

@@StevieProton Ah, yes, not the brightest move! We have actually done the guided tour of the mine, probably 15 years ago, was quite interesting.
