Do you know why the water is a dramatically different colour at the carpark end?
@StevieProton15 күн бұрын
@@theboy-uk Nobody knows. Lots of people have theories about it. The reddish colour would seem to indicate that it’s iron ore based. But, nobody knows where it’s from and how it gets here. It’s been tested and isn’t toxic but it’s starting to stain the boats that are moored there long term. One theory is that it’s coming from old mines and is being routed to the harbour due to the railway tunnel that goes under the town. So, Network Rail are involved along with the Environment Agency, plus the Harbour Commissioners and anybody else who thinks they can solve the problem. It’s been there over a year and all the headless chickens are getting nowhere.

@@StevieProton Weird, yet fascinating, as its only that one part that seems to be impacted. Great vid by the way, and the day/night transition was epic.
@StevieProton15 күн бұрын
@@theboy-ukYeh, it looks like the inflow pipe in the corner is the source, but when the tide goes in and out the lock gates are closed during low tide and the water is fairly stagnant. Before the lock gates were installed the boats would all rest on the mud during low tide.

Yes, two waypoint flights. One at 2pm and one at 11pm. Then I use a grid on an adjustment layer. As long as the height, angle, and gimbal angle are the same I do a bit of fine frame adjustment along with a reduction of the opacity to align both videos together.

We were up there last week on the train. You don't appreciate from the gorund the formation of that little valley. That tiny stream did not form that valley, it's an underfit stream! I suspect it was a glacial outwash channel. Underlying rock is Triassic sandstone: you're well outside the Lake District volcanics. How do you not get copyright strike from Enigma?
@StevieProton21 күн бұрын
@@KokowaSarunoKuniDesu Because my YT channel isn’t monetised I’m not making money using someone else’s talent. So, most artists allow that. It’s free publicity for them. So, no copyright strikes.

It could do with a good clean. I know it is coal country, but no need to go around with a layer of it all over the place.
@DeborahMarkham-q6rАй бұрын
There are a few reasons the house hasn't been cleaned. The cost is one. 😮. £££££££££££. The house is more than 300 years old, 400 in some parts and seen better days, so to clean the stone would likely damage it more. Besides this yes, Wentworth Woodhouse was quite literally built on coal and the wealth from the local coal mines on the estate, so the black dirt is a part of it's history and we love it. ❤ We don't want it cleaning 😊

Absolutely stunning, one of your best yet and a treat to watch. Did you just travel from Bowness Knott car park up the valley? Hope you don't mind me following you again. I'll have to charge the bike battery and wait for the weather to improve.
@StevieProtonАй бұрын
Yeh, I parked at Bowness Knott and cruised up to Black Sail gate on my eBike. It's 8 kilometres and a nice quiet bit of forestry road. No cars and I saw less than ten people all day. Just how I like it - no tourists. The worst bit is the road from Croasdale down to Bowness Knott - very narrow and lotsa bends. Once you get to the Forest England carpark the road is barriered off, so you only see the odd car going to the field centre or an odd Forest England or National Trust van. Although, all the ones I saw were just parked up and empty.

That's amazing! How did you do the continuous shot?
@StevieProtonАй бұрын
It's six flights joined together. I stop each flight when the drone goes nearly out of sight and I pick some easy landmarks on the ground where the flight ends for reference. Then I move locations to a new launch point, fly back past the previous stopping point and then turn around to start again where I left off. I repeat this until I get to the end. When I edit the clips together I put a grid over the top of the join to crop and move the clips to line them up. Then delete the grid and put a very short cross dissolve transition (30 frames) between clips. I use Final Cut Pro for editing. The whole distance from St Bees beach to Whitehaven harbour is about 9 kilometres.
